Day 31 of 2016

"Oh my gosh, they're so cute, like yours!"
GB#2 received her fingerless mitts today and then posed for a very serious picture.

Day 30 of 2016

We're downtown again for the symphony.
I can't tell you how many times I have sketched the inside of this theater
for quilting inspiration.

Day 27 of 2016

Earlier this evening we ran out to do a couple errands.
My hands got so chilled that I could not warm them up.
We stopped for a bite to eat, and Fireball and M grabbed us a table by the fire.
Lovely.

Day 26 of 2016

We all had some reading to do so we decided to have "quiet time" after dinner.
Fireball took full advantage of it.

Day 25 of 2016

I went to the Home Show today.
While there were many lovely things in the centerpiece home,
the favorite thing I photographed was the floor.
No surprise.

Day 23 of 2016

This is a gaggle.  I knew that.
And according to Wikipedia it must be a flock of five or more.
What I didn't know is that once this happens, the gaggle is no longer a gaggle.
Now that they are in flight, it is considered a skein.
So there is your picture(s) and your nature word(s) of the day.

Day 21 of 2016

Here is a sneak peek at project I am finally finishing from last winter.
I had run into some issues and had put it aside.
I decided to look into it again and came up with solutions.
I guess we just needed some time apart.
Do you do this?
Do you put things aside and later come up with the solution to the problem?

Day 20 of 2016

What's not to love about red outlets and a bright blue plug?
I almost made this a "where am I?" post
but I wasn't sure I would get a good reveal picture.
You can actually find these outlets and plugs
at the local hospital where I spent my day.
Mom is a "guest" there.
Before you get too worried, I can tell you that she is feeling better than this morning and
just needs to be monitored for the next few days.

Day 19 of 2016

M is wearing her new Edgar Allan Poe-ka Dot socks
from Out of Print Clothing today.
Quite coincidentally, it is Edgar Allan Poe's birthday.

Day 17 of 2016

Walking with critters in a light snow.
As I'm sure you have figured out, they weren't actually walking along at the same time,
but it's kind of fun to think they were.

Day 16 of 2016

I am saddened beyond words that this little one lost her grandma today.

Day 13 of 2016

M finished her Swoon blocks today.
Now she is deciding the layout.

Day 9 of 2016

We interrupt the regularly scheduled shawl knitting during football watching
 to bring you this
tiny impromptu knitting project.

Day 8 of 2016

I thought I'd get a picture of the house with the lights before we take the lights down,
which is likely to be soon.
The stars in the upstairs windows are new this year as are the colored lights
which I talked about in December.
I will miss them but if they don't come down,
I won't be able to enjoy the excitement of them going back up this December.

Day 7 of 2016

Hey, good morning!  Let's have a stare down.
Or would you rather I pose for you?

Day 6 of 2016

I found a couple of sweaters at my Goodwill store today that are destined
for unraveling and then knitting up into something new.

Day 5 of 2016

Goals for today:
Assemble X blocks - check.
Lay out quilt - check.

Day 4 of 2016

Half blocks.
I am hoping for whole blocks and a quilt layout tomorrow.

Day 2 of 2016

Four girls head downtown.
(M, Little E, GB#1, and me)
Fabric was purchased.
There might have been a sing-along in the car on the way home.
Good times.

Day 1 of 2016

The new year hasn't started out quite as I would have liked.
I was never far from this box.
I managed a little knitting but clearly wasn't quite up to it
as I had to tear out four rows due to a couple silly mistakes.
I plan to pretend tomorrow is the first day of the year and start over.
