Day 243 of 2017

It was a beautiful evening downtown tonight.
I wore my newly remade shirt to the game
and got comments from at least four strangers.
I did not get a picture to post yet.

Day 242 of 2017

Another t-shirt remake has begun.
I will be wearing it tomorrow for the game,
so there might be an "after" picture soon.

Day 241 of 2017

I thought I would get this adorable panel-print doll, complete with mermaid fins,
finished sometime in the last two weeks so GB#1 could take it home with her.
I guess I overestimated the amount of sewing time I would get
while having a 5-year-old house guest.
It's been a long time since I had a 5-year-old in the house full time.
Her little quilt is done but I just got the remainder of her pieces cut out tonight.
Sewing, on the other hand, will now be delayed due to a t-shirt makeover
and some birthday sewing that need to be done on deadlines.

Day 240 of 2017

Helping Mom prep for the fall craft fair
by making the tags for her handmade items just a bit fancier.

Day 239 of 2017

I'm about to throw this into the water.
(It was better than I would ever have expected.)

Day 238 of 2017

I forgot to show you this sweet quilt top that I found
at the State Fair last weekend.
Each block is different but just as sweet as the next.
It has issues including some very puffy sashing,
but I think it just wants me to quilt it.

Day 236 of 2017

Today is our last day with this sweetie.
She has been a real trooper.
She's been missing her mommy and daddy, her home, and her school.
Mom and Dad arrived yesterday and tomorrow they fly home.
She will be so happy.

I have posted some pictures of an impromptu adventure over on More Curiously
If you are squeamish about bugs, don't go look!

Day 232 of 2017

So this happened today at the State Fair.
It was not as easy as it was when I was young, but I survived.

Day 231 of 2017

When you only come to the States a couple times a year,
it's important to see all the people.

Day 230 of 2017

This pot was a wedding gift received by my parents in 1949.
It is still in use and going strong.

Day 225 of 2017

We had a quick little photo shoot today with our four GBs.
This one cracks me up.
Left to right:  GB#2, GB#1, GB#3, GB#4
For just a few short weeks our GBs are 2, 3, 4, and 5 years old.

"Give this butterfly lovely colors."
GB#1 followed the directions well.

Day 222 of 2017

This girl loves puppies so I planned a surprise visit with this little pup.
I think the visit was a success.
She told me later that she loved it.

One last Florida tourist shot.
We are waiting for our airport transportation.

Day 218 of 2017

I can't think of a better way to end our last day at Disney
and to celebrate GB#1's birthday
than to be at Epcot for a light and fireworks show.

Day 216 of 2017

Spindlewarps.
I'm pretty sure this would be my favorite store, if this were a real place.

Day 213 of 2017

I have shown you this piece of art before (here
so I thought I would show you a different view.
I don't think I ever noticed that he has eyebrows before.
