Day 31 of 2017

Hi.  It's me.
Last October I made a red seed stitch cowl.
After I showed the green cowl a couple days ago
it occurred to me that I never showed you the completed red one.
I wear it all the time.
It's not too hot but keeps me warm.
I wore it today.

Day 29 of 2017

On my trip away to warmer weather, I worked on a few things that needed to get done.
This was my first finish.  I started and finished the knitting in 2014.
So now, almost exactly three years later, I have done the sewing up that was needed,
and it is ready to wear in our colder days to come this winter.
This cowl is a nice thick double layer of knitting, perfect for very cold days.

Day 27 of 2017

I took a seat at the counter in a cute little breakfast cafe
on my last morning away.
I enjoyed my adventure, but as always, it's great to be home.

Day 24 of 2017

From way up in the air to way down on the ground,
today was the complete opposite of yesterday.

Day 22 of 2017

My goal was out by the end of the week.
That didn't quite happen but with lots of help from Fireball,
they were ready to go out by the end of the weekend.

Day 21 of 2017

Fireball and I went to the Home Show today at the fairgrounds.
This patio floor was one of my favorite things.
I'm sure this comes as no surprise.

Day 20 of 2017

Today I made a shrug.
I overexposed the corner a bit so you could tell that it is navy blue, not black.
You can tell, right?

Day 19 of 2017

As promised yesterday, here is my one purchase from the quilt shop.
Zippers.
I chose one of each color that was available.
It was another gray, rainy day here
(the 11th in a row according to the weatherman tonight)
so I thought this would be a great way to brighten the day.

Day 18 of 2017

It seems I have been standing in lines lately.
The local quilt shop closest to my house is changing ownership.
Today was the preview day for the sale of the current inventory.
This was looking forward from my place in line before the doors opened.
Once the line started moving I looked back,
and there were at least as many behind me.
This kind of thing overwhelms me,
so I went with one thing in mind to buy and I bought that one thing.
Maybe I will show you a picture of it tomorrow.

Day 17 of 2017

I've started a new knitting project but I am trying not to work on it too much.
I'd like to save it for some travel time next week.
Since it is pretty chunky, I am afraid it may go too fast.

Day 16 of 2017

FedEx delivery.
Happy day.
Goal:  Out by the end of the week.

Day 15 of 2017

I have started over using my bullet journal.
I began again January 1st hoping to make it much more usable for me.
I already know I want to try a different layout for my daily pages.
I do like tracking the weather forecast though.
Hopefully there will still be room for it in my new layout.

Day 14 of 2017

GB#3 was just as excited to see my bargain find of last week as I was to find it.
We had great fun tonight playing with trains.

Day 13 of 2017

We are expecting freezing rain for the next day or so.
The lines at the grocery were crazy.
The line I was in closed and I had to move to the back of another line.
But I am home now with food and it is movie night.
We're all set.

Day 12 of 2017

When a habit becomes a tradition:
For years I just didn't get around to taking the tree down
until after the middle of January.
Then one year M proclaims that we never take the tree down until after her birthday.
Nope.  We don't.  That would be unheard of.
So now the taking down of the tree after M's birthday (coming up very soon)
is a tradition at our house.
But before the tree comes down, I need to take the picture of myself in the ornament,
an even newer tradition.

Day 11 of 2017

Today I needed to explain to Little E via text
the very sophisticated measuring system I use
when a measuring device is not available.
I use this system frequently and usually have a folded bill in my pocket.
It would have taken a lot of words and typing to explain
so I folded my dollar bill,
took a picture with my phone
and then did the lines and writing with the markup tool on the phone.
Obviously, I could use more practice, but for today I think it served its purpose.

Thanks to M for showing me that the markup tool existed.

Day 8 of 2017

M has arrived home from her adventure.
At first I thought hers was the plane on the right,
but then the second one appeared and pulled up to the correct gate.
It's good to have her back.

Day 7 of 2017

Today I took only one picture.
If I had known it was so blurry, I would surely have taken another of something else.
But it was after midnight when I discovered the blur so, by default,
this is picture of the day.
This is the aftermath of GB#3 playing with his current favorite thing.
The boy sure does love his trains.

Day 5 of 2017

It's time for last year's calendar to become this year's note cards,
gift boxes, file folders and gift tags.

Wednesday, January 4, 2017

Day 4 of 2017

I know to the casual observer this may look like a cluttered countertop,
but to those of you who know me,
you know that this is an EXTREMELY clean and tidy countertop.
Hey, it's organized too.
I even have the ingredients and recipe for tomorrow's dinner ready.

Day 3 of 2017

After a very foggy drive to the airport early this morning,
M was off on her adventure.

Monday, January 2, 2017

Day 2 of 2017

Waiting.
It is unfortunate timing that M has developed an ear infection
the day before flying out of town.
Fortunately, she has started meds and is already beginning to feel better.

Day 1 of 2017

Happy New Year!
My first finish for the year is this hat for Fireball.
I had hoped it would be the last finish of 2016
but I came up about seven stitches short,
so I finished it just after midnight before I went to bed.
I'm okay with that.  It feels like a good start.

Day 366 of 2016

I'm glad the last sunset of the year is a pink one.
I'll see you tomorrow in the new year.
