Day 365 of 2018

Cousins.
New Year's Eve dinner out.
GB#1 and GB#3 don't get to see each other very often
so we try to take advantage of every opportunity.

Day 364 of 2018

The Indianapolis Colts are headed to the playoffs
after a very rough beginning of the season.
I believe it has a lot to do with this coach.

Day 363 of 2018

After working puzzles for the last few days,
we finally played a few rounds of Mexican Train
which Fireball gave me for Mother's Day.
We'll definitely be playing it more.

Day 362 of 2018

These two requested a small photo shoot.

Update:  The missing puzzle piece was found although tonight's puzzle is finished, and,
you guessed it, there is one piece missing.

Day 361 of 2018

Don't you hate it when this happens?
This is a brand new puzzle.
I just opened the box yesterday.
I looked all afternoon for this piece just to find when I finished the puzzle
that it is missing.

Day 360 of 2018

We are determined to finish this puzzle.
One thousand pieces.
Only shades of blue, gray and white sky left.
It may have to wait until tomorrow.

Day 358 of 2018

We had a little trouble with the corkscrew.
Luckily, we had a backup.

Day 356 of 2018

Pre-Christmas errands with Grandma and Grandpa
proved a bit too much for GB#1.

Friday, December 21, 2018

Day 355 of 2018

GB#1 lost her first tooth a few days ago
and will lose the second one any day now.
If you look closely, you can see the space created by the lost tooth.

Day 353 of 2018

Winterlights at Newfields.
(formerly IMA)
Photos cannot capture the pure wonder.

Day 351 of 2018

Sliced apples.
One of my favorite snacks.
I'm sharing this one with Fireball.

Day 350 of 2018

I could not resist this blue sky and the shadows
on this gorgeous December day.

(St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church)

Day 349 of 2018

There is a reason the instructions say "Right Sides Together."
Time for the seam ripper to make an appearance.
And what's going on with my bobbin tension?

Day 347 of 2018

I forgot to show you the fat quarters I acquired
at our Christmas party Tuesday in our fat quarter exchange game.
I really like what I came home with.

Day 345 of 2018

The result of my fussy cutting and pairing up is ornaments
 for my quilting friends
to be given at our annual Christmas party tonight.

Monday, December 10, 2018

Day 344 of 2018

Today I'm pairing my fussy cuts with some non-fussy cuts and rickrack.

Sunday, December 9, 2018

Day 343 of 2018

I did a some fussy cutting for a little project.
I enjoyed the studio time.
It's been a while.

Day 340 of 2018

A new knitting project, one third done,
sitting upon a foot stool in dire need of reupholstery.

Day 339 of 2018

I saw this bird today in Kentucky.
He was enjoying the bounty of these red berries.
Any ideas on who he is?
He's gray with two stripes on each wing.
He's about the size of an American Robin with a slightly longer tail.
He is puffed up here as it was quite chilly.
What do you think?
Northern Mockingbird?

Day 338 of 2018

Today I bought a book.
I'm calling it an early Christmas present to myself.

Monday, December 3, 2018

Day 337 of 2018

They called for light rain but that's not rain.
I seem to have an accumulation of sleet on my windshield.
As I drove home, it changed to rain.

Day 336 of 2018

Remember when retailers put your purchases in beautifully decorated bags?
Maybe they still do.
I'm not really sure.
Remember when you used to cover your textbooks with paper covers
made from brown paper grocery bags?
Well, I have found a shopping bag that I have saved for exactly this purpose
except this time I have covered my planner.
I will no doubt leave it on until it begins to fall apart
or another beautiful shopping bag comes along that I can't resist.

Day 334 of 2018

I'm making color palettes from some of Mom's clothes and household textiles.
I'm hoping I can work out some quilts sometime in the new year.

Day 333 of 2018

It was a good day.
Many things could not have turned out better.
I may have bought myself flowers.

Day 332 of 2018

I am totally obsessed with this wall.
My phone needed a new battery.
Guess where I spent 3 hours this afternoon.
That's right.  Sitting on a wooden cube staring at this wall.
Ok.  I did a little doodling.
But mostly I obsessed about this wall.

Day 331 of 2018

We bought tickets to the show and got the new CD for free.
It arrived today.
I can't wait to listen to it.

Monday, November 26, 2018

Day 330 of 2018

While there are lots of things on my to-do list,
I only had one real goal for today.
Success.

Day 329 of 2108

Downtown on the circle
 the Soldiers and Sailors Monument
has been decorated and lit up like a Christmas tree
and is surrounded by oversized toy soldiers and sailors.

Friday, November 23, 2018

Day 327 of 2018

Before the rain started, it was mild and dry.
Now it is wet and the temps are going to drop soon.
Today was the logical day to put the outdoor lights up.

Day 320 of 2018

My grandmother, Polly, was an artist.
She painted this scene before I was born.
I really like it.

Day 316 of 2018

Fall collides with winter on my chalkboard
just as it is doing here in real life.
