Another season of Symphony on the Prairie kicked off this weekend. 

Among other things, the orchestra played 

Dvorak's Symphony No. 9, "From the New World." 

It is one of my all time favorites.  

I have heard this piece a million times both live and recorded, 

but tonight it almost made me cry.

I'm running a little late but I am so excited to be

sewing for a boy.

When gathering with friends for a quilting getaway, 

I always find it necessary to cut, pack and bring way more projects 

than I can possibly get done in the time allotted.  

You never know. 

I might be especially speedy or I might get bored. 

Or I might go home with all the projects still in their bags. 

I hope not.

 (I realize, based on pictures and people I have seen, many may say I do it upside down.)

As I generally only bind in the evening after dinner, 

this one seems to be taking a long time. 

It's rather large.

I am going to make a push and hope for a finish sometime this week.

Yesterday's baking yielded a gluten free shortcake 

which I put under my strawberries and toppings 

this morning at the annual strawberry festival downtown the circle. 

I called it breakfast.
