Day 120 of 2023

"Here, I'll just carry these two mattresses to the curb.
No problem."
We were a party of five today, all doing some heavy lifting.
Progress is being made at the Old House.

Day 119 of 2023

We had storms today so the sky tonight on the way to the airport
for a pick up was really pretty.

Day 117 of 2023

I'm back at the Old House today.
From just part of the garage, this recycling bin is full.
It is filled with every sort of plastic and glass container
saved from food, juice, milk and all other items sold in these containers.
I'm sure I will fill it again and again
as I move through the rest of the garage and the basement.
It is very apparent that Great Grandpa H
and Grandma Boo were Depression Era kids.

Day 116 of 2023

I'm pretty sure I post a version of this picture every year,
but the way the light shines through those new spring ginkgo leaves
gets me every time.

Day 115 of 2023

I'm thinking of Great Grandpa H today as it would have been his 93rd birthday.
We celebrated with his favorite meal and ice cream.
This bunny sits in the front garden near the walk at the Old House.
I think he may have to come live in our garden.

Day 114 of 2023

Sometimes if you're lucky and you time it just right,
you get a perfect avocado.

Day 113 of 2023

After working on the Old House today,
Fireball and I had some dinner downtown.
I found quilt a design in the wild.
I may get out the graph paper for this one.

Day 112 of 2023

I stopped at a thrift shop and bought a couple of things.
It seems I am drawn to green and puffed sleeves today.

Day 111 of 2023

I gave Big D some options for a hat to accessorize a costume
he will be wearing tomorrow for an event.
He selected the long green striped number.

(all hats handmade by Little E, M and me)

Day 110 of 2023

Today's buddy was this butterfly.
He seemed to really like the Windex I was using
to clean my very bug-covered windshield.
He was showing me his beautiful orange wings
until I got ready to take his picture.
Then I guess he got shy.

Day 108 of 2023

The Old House.
When it seems insurmountable,
I take it one step (cabinet) at a time
and leave myself little encouraging notes.

Day 107 of 2023

Unfortunately, a local quilt shop is closing after three years in business.
I went today to participate in the current sale.
I got a few pieces of fabric for backings
and also found a couple clothing patterns for a very good price.
This evening I thought it would be a good idea
to start a list and make notes to myself.
This way when I get a chance to sew clothing in a couple months,
I will be able to remember what I was thinking
regarding fabric and pattern match ups.
I will thank myself later.

Day 106 of 2023

I am headed up to work on the Old House tomorrow,
and as much as I have looked,
I have yet to find a 5-in-1 tool there so I will be bringing my own.

I have also filled in the missing pictures starting with Day 95 of 2023.

Day 105 of 2023

Here is another of the changes that happened while we were gone.
There are a few leaves emerging now,
but I love the bright yellow-green of that fuzzy stuff that appears first.

(I have just looked this fuzzy stuff up
and evidently these are the flowers of this maple tree.
They appear before the leaves.)

Day 104 of 2023

We all know that Little E makes lots of yarn projects,
but she doesn't like to weave the ends in.
I don't mind weaving in at all so I volunteered to do that for her
on some recent projects.
I brought them home with me and got a little bit done at the airport,
but since I've been home I have not had the energy to get back to it yet.

Day 103 of 2023

There was a little mix up of a shirt I ordered, but today,
the correct one arrived.
There could be no truer words.

Day 102 of 2023

While I was away my yard totally bloomed.
This redbud is just one of the many changes that happened in my absence.

Day 101 of 2023

Fireball soaks up the last bit of time here.
We are on the cliffs at Astwood Park
looking to the horizon for a glimpse of a whale.

Day 99 of 2023

The rain held off long enough
for Easter egg hunting in the front yard.

Day 98 of 2023

At Bermuda Botanical Gardens
GB#1 wanted us to see her favorite thing, "the big tree."
It turns out to actually be many trees all together,
but it is really big.
Can you see her in the picture?
She loves climbing all over it.

Day 97 of 2023

Today is Good Friday and here in Bermuda
it is it is customary to fly kites on the beach.
The wind and weather were perfect for kite flying.
While some of us were flying kites,
GB#1 decided to get in the not-so-warm water.
Fireball had not intended to get quite so wet but ultimately did.
Good times were had by all.

Day 96 of 2023

Yes, we are here in Bermuda visiting Little E, L and GB#1.
Here she wears one of the four shirts I posted here
and is carrying a Fennel Fanny Pack that I also made.
She loves them both.

Day 95 of 2023

I'm off on an adventure.
Can you guess where I am going from the picture?

Day 93 of 2023

I've had some setbacks to my schedule the last couple days.
A crown popped off my tooth, I sewed my finger with the sewing machine,
and today I am looking for something I just can't find.
What to do? Clean out my purse.
It's on my list anyway. Easy win.
Besides, I've never seen it look so organized.

Day 92 of 2023

Several chairs have blown over from last winter's winds.
Spring is making growing things wake up.
In the end, the grass will always find a way.
This time the blades of grass will not let the mesh chair back
 block their path
and have used the tiny holes
as the perfect invitation to grow upward.

Day 91 of 2023

I finally solved the puzzle.
I used an online guide.
I will work it again and again so I can memorize the moves
and they make sense to me.
