Day 91 of 2020

The 'Stay at Home" order here has given me time
to start sorting through things in order to make some order of things.
Over the years, I have purchased thrift store shirts
with the intention of using the fabric in quilts.
These shirts take up a lot of room until you cut them apart
and get rid of the seams, hems and such.
I did just that to three shirts last night.
Tonight during our weekly virtual quilting meeting I completed six more.

Day 90 of 2020

This project needs to leave this table so I can set up a very large puzzle,
so today I did some more deciding, calculating and cutting.
I figure any progress is still progress.
I will be sure to bring you updates on the puzzle.
It's huge!

Day 89 of 2020

After one of our neighborhood walks,
I was inspired by the daffodils and crocuses to change the dishes.

Colors used:  Meadow, Lemongrass, Sunflower, Daffodil, Turquoise, Peacock,
White, Flamingo and Mulberry

Day 88 of 2020

Today's picture is a picture of a picture.
It was taken about the time T-bone reached my height, probably age thirteen.
I thought it was taken at a school function of some sort
until I just now saw the sewing machine on the left.
Now I recognize that we were at an event put on by my quilt guild
as an educational service for children
to teach them some of the finer points about quilting.
I believe they did drawings with heat-set crayons, yo-yo blocks,
and other techniques.
I still have the blocks my kids made.

Day 87 of 2020

Inchworm on the car.
Warning:  Objects on your screen may appear larger than they really are.

Day 85 of 2020

Although Mom's been gone almost a year and a half,
I baked a cake so we could celebrate her on her birthday.
She would be 91.

Day 84 of 2020

This quilt used to live on M's bed when she lived here at home.
I'm sure I've shown it here before
but I washed and dried it today and it is so soft and fluffy.
I thought it deserved another shout out.
That and the only other things I did today were clean and make dinner.
Oh, and attend our Tuesday virtual quilting meeting.

Day 83 of 2020

I needed to add another card to the ring.
As I was considering where on the ring to put it,
I considered rearranging them by size, but then I did this.
I feel good about it.

Day 82 of 2020

Today I coordinated my paper calendar with my electronic calendar
which basically means I crossed off a bunch of stuff
that I had written in the paper planner
but have since deleted or rescheduled in my phone.

Day 81 of 2020

Every time I make a refill of my taco seasoning,
I am amazed how beautiful it looks.
The tacos are always good too.

Day 80 of 2020

As I am spending all my time at home,
there is no reason not to work through the living room mess.
My first step in the process, besides to throw away the obvious trash,
is to put like things together.
I've started a stack of throws of all kinds.
There are more in a bag nearby, but here is my current stack.
They include two very vintage quilts I hope to replicate some day,
four crocheted throws made by Little E,
one throw made by my great aunt and a patchwork throw made in Bali.

Day 79 of 2020

We all need social interaction. Quilters are no different.
With this in mind, one of the members of our little group
set up our first virtual quilt meeting tonight.
It went well and we plan to do it again next week.
As a bonus, I was able to get some fabric cut for the nine-patch project
 while participating in the meeting.

Day 78 of 2020

The girls wanted to cut some fabric
so I let them to use what they wanted from my scrap bins.

Day 75 of 2020

The Christmas stuff is finally put away.
The garland with lights gets to stay as does the wildlife.

Day 74 of 2020

Fireball was in need of coffee so we ventured out today.
I saw this bottle and had to laugh.
The label is quite entertaining.
I didn't buy it but thought if any of you needed a chuckle today,
this is for you.

Day 73 of 2020

Schools in the area are closed as I imagine they are in most of the country.
GB#3 came over to stay for a while so Big D could do some errands.
As part of our playing, I needed an "award" to give GB#3.
This metronome was the perfect thing
and provided entertainment for a significant amount of time.

Day 71 of 2020

The tiling in our bathroom was finished last Friday.
I finally got a chance to clean all the grit away today,
and like many quilters might,
I love the hexagons we chose for the niches.

Day 70 of 2020

Meal prep should be much easier
with these new labels Fireball ordered for me.

Day 69 of 2020

This set of star blocks got their trim today.  They are now all 15 1/2 inches.
This set has nine blocks and I had put them away for a long time
because I really didn't like the way they turned out.
This is one of the better ones.
You'll see what I mean when this becomes a completed top.
My quilt group assured me that with some sashing,
they will be okay so I am going for it.

Day 68 of 2020

I've taken to making strawberry, lemon, yogurt mini popsicles.
They usually go too fast to get a picture.
They are so good.
I eat them every day.

Day 67 of 2020

It's not every day that I get to go to a quilt store, go to a quilt show
and hang out with these cuties.

Cuties, left to right:  GB#2, Fireball, GB#4

Day 66 of 2020

Another UFO I pulled out the other day was this.
Since the tile work was finishing up today
I needed to work on something that could be interrupted
but also felt like I was getting something done.
Here's just a peek as I am still deciding on placement and construction method.

Day 65 of 2020

Remember about a week ago I exchanged Valentine blocks with my quilt group?
Well, I have decided how I am going to set the blocks.
I've selected, washed and pressed my fabric.
The only thing is that the setting takes sixteen blocks
and I will have fourteen from the exchange.
So today I made two more blocks to go with the others.

Day 64 of 2020

For the last several years my quilting group has had a UFO challenge
beginning in February and ending sometime in late spring.
I have been trying to figure out which projects I'd like to concentrate on.
With this quest in mind, I have been looking through my bins that contain my UFOs.
I found this one today.
I still think it's fun, but I'm not really interested in making any more blocks
so I will be working on a solution with what I have done.
Then I'll decide if this is the year for this project.

For the non-quilters:
