Day 46 of 2026

Sometimes I peek into the china cabinet

 to see what's happening there. 

Today I spied my snowman who lives inside. 

He seems to be happy that it's still winter. 

Personally, I will be glad when the temperatures

 are consistently warmer.

 

Day 34 of 2026

There was a school function tonight. 

We left home right after Fireball got home from work. 

We arrived just in time.

 We were not the only ones. 

There was no parking. 

It was a very cold walk from our car. 

At least the sky was fabulous...

and the event was good.

Now that the snow is on the ground, 

the temperatures are going to stay very low for a while. 

The positive side of that is the beautiful frost on the windows.

 

Day 25 of 2026

Final result tonight after it finally stopped snowing. 

9 1/2 inches on the patio table on the deck in the back yard. 

Everything is shut down tomorrow.

 thanks to the winter cold, a sock cap 

and all the static electricity created by taking that hat off.

It's another beautiful December sunset.

This morning we can see the results of yesterday's snow. 

It is expected to be very cold today and tonight 

so the roads are going to be a challenge for a while. 

Besides all that, it is a beautiful sight.

While the painter works downstairs,

 I'm upstairs dreaming up quilts, 

specifically chevron quilts.

Northern Flicker came to the feeder. 

I got some shots of his face but this was the best one 

that showed the red spot on the back of his head. 

Maybe he'll come back and I'll try again.

 

Day 60 of 2025

It's very windy and cold today.

I know it's only the first of March, but, 

I kind of wish it was the end of March.

I'm ready for warmer (not hot) days.

It's 60º today and the chipmunk has come out 

to bask in the sunshine. 

I wanted more of his face, 

but he is right outside my door so when I move he runs.

 

Day 48 of 2025

I have declared in the last couple days that I am not leaving my house 

for anything for the next week due to the ridiculous temperatures. 

I changed my tune tonight when I fell victim to a pizza craving. 

I put on more layers of clothing and headed out. 

It turned out well, 

but now I really am staying in the house until Sunday.

The backyard was a hive of activity today. 

There were lots of birds. 

The squirrels were exceptionally busy

 and I saw my first chipmunk in a while.
