Day 65 of 2025

Northern Flicker came to the feeder.
I got some shots of his face but this was the best one
that showed the red spot on the back of his head.
Maybe he'll come back and I'll try again.

Day 60 of 2025

It's very windy and cold today.
I know it's only the first of March, but,
I kind of wish it was the end of March.
I'm ready for warmer (not hot) days.

Day 56 of 2025

It's 60ยบ today and the chipmunk has come out
to bask in the sunshine.
I wanted more of his face,
but he is right outside my door so when I move he runs.

Day 48 of 2025

I have declared in the last couple days that I am not leaving my house
for anything for the next week due to the ridiculous temperatures.
I changed my tune tonight when I fell victim to a pizza craving.
I put on more layers of clothing and headed out.
It turned out well,
but now I really am staying in the house until Sunday.

Day 46 of 2025

Small town + empty storefront = canvas for artist's winter scene.

Day 38 of 2025

The backyard was a hive of activity today.
There were lots of birds.
The squirrels were exceptionally busy
and I saw my first chipmunk in a while.

Day 35 of 2025

Tonight's amazing sky.

Also, this What is it? was indeed one of the charts generated
when photos of my retina are taken at each visit to the retina specialist.
The red/orange spots are not a good sign.
Treatment was necessary.
You're on a roll, Joanne.

Day 22 of 2025

This blue tarp is covering some boards
we intend to use for an outdoor project.
This squirrel has decided to rip it apart with his teeth and claws.
He ran off with his find and came back for more.
I suspect he is using it for some extra insulation
on these very cold days and nights.

Day 21 of 2025

I'm finally taking Christmas down
but some things might just stay up the rest of winter.

Day 8 of 2025

I didn't get to my crafty project today,
but I did spy this beautiful January sunset.
I also finished the red hat.

Day 7 of 2025

I made one decoration with these pieces
cut from cardboard tubes late last year.
I have now cut more pieces from more tubes I have collected
since then and plan to make them up tomorrow.
I'll show you if that happens.

Day 6 of 2025

It snowed all night and into today.
After it stopped I measured it (8 1/4") on our outdoor table
with one of my quilting rulers.
Below I've taken a wider shot so you can see
the impressive edge on the side of the table.

Day 340 of 2024

This is inside our furnace. That red 57 is flashing.
It was also flashing last night.
Someone diagnosed our problem and came back today to fix it.
We thought it was, but it is not.
It is very cold inside our house.
The temperature outside is going to be very cold overnight
so I expect it will be even colder inside by morning.

Day 326 of 2024

First wave of our first snow of the year hit this morning.
The second wave will come this afternoon.
