Day 216 of 2022

I like to try to include a little sunshine on each quilt I quilt.
This quilt has ended up with a lot of sunshine.
Each medium sized hexagon is filled with sunshine.
And that's a wrap. Next week, binding.

Day 215 of 2022

I am nearing the end of quilting this quilt
and I think this is my favorite part of it so far.

Day 211 of 2022

Since our last look at the longarm machine,
I have loaded, basted and started quilting this quilt top I made a long time ago.
I'm not sure of the exact year, but there is a copyright date of 2009 on the pattern.
At any rate, I am working out the kinks that come with being away from the machine
for a while and I am pleased with the progress so far.

Day 207 of 2022

This can only mean one thing.
Get ready for some longarm quilting pictures in the next several days.

Day 320 of 2021

The things you find while looking for other things-
This time it's one of my very favorite pictures of me with my dad.

Day 238 of 2020

My eye allowed me to get back to quilting today.
I have one more row of background across the bottom
and then I can start on the color sections.

Day 236 of 2020

It's been almost a year since I quilted anything on my longarm
so I was a little (a lot) nervous to get started on this quilt.
My lines are not all straight, my circles are not all round
and my spacing is not all consistent,
 but it is going well.
I am improving my confidence.
I could not ask for more.

Day 180 of 2017

I finally got back to the big machine, with its new foot.
I finished the quilting on this quilt and took it off the frame.
My new favorite stripe is the green one at the top.
I used the QCR Curvit ruler set for the curved diamonds and curved crosshatching.
It was fun and I am so happy with the result.
Now to select a binding fabric.

Day 143 of 2017

I got a great start on the pink and green quilt today.
The pink is almost complete.
After finishing that, I will switch to green thread for the remaining sections.
If all goes as planned, this one should be finished by the end of the day tomorrow.

Day 120 of 2017

I decided to quilt the borders with wavy lines which intersect at the corners.
This one just needs binding.

Day 119 of 2017

I've started quilting the rest of the quilt that Little E started
I am quilting swirls in the 9-patches like she started
and signature sunshine in the alternate blocks.
I'm not quite sure about the borders yet, but I have a couple ideas.

I also want to mention a slightly surreal moment I had today.
At my local quilt shop a fellow shopper asked me if I was Curiously Intertwined.
I said yes and we talked for a few minutes.
It made my day.
Thank you, Luanne, for speaking up and asking me the question.
I hope our paths cross again.

Day 36 of 2017

The last piece of fabric I loaded onto this backing has been quilted.
This time I did some freeform doodling.
I love the texture it created.

Day 132 of 2016

Since I finished quilting the giraffe quilt yesterday,
today I prepared the backing for this quilt.
It has been waiting patiently in the "next up" spot for a good long while.
Many quilts have slipped in ahead of it.
I think it's time.

Pattern by Tammy Tadd Designs.
I believe it is out of print as I was not able to locate it anywhere online.

Day 57 of 2016

I've loaded the next quilt up and think I have finally settled on the quilting plan.
Hopefully I can get a start on it this weekend.

Day 147/365

I was hoping to finish this quilt today.
I did not.
I have just four blocks to go, but it's too late and I'm too tired.
Tomorrow.

Day 72/365

The next quilt top is loaded on the machine.
This top was made by Little E several years ago.
She told me I can practice on it.
No pressure!

I would like to take before and after pictures of quilts that I finish.
I forgot this time.
There is not much room behind the machine so I did the best I could.
Hopefully I will remember the next time.

Day 44/365

This quilt began its life as a patchwork skirt made by a member of my quilt group.
She offered it to the group as she was not wearing it anymore.
I took it and made it into a quilt top.
It has been on my "tops that need quilting" list for a long time.
Now it serves as a practice piece while I work on my longarm techniques.
