Day 181 of 2016

Downtown construction.
Construction is one of my favorite things.
It's too bad it was late and the workers were nowhere to be found.

After being off track for a while, it's good to get back to real food.

Day 176 of 2016

M has found that a personal size, microwave mug cake
makes a great, easy late night snack.

Day 174 of 2016

While the others headed off to town to shop,
I got busy sewing.

Day 172 of 2016

You would think I was going away for weeks, not just a couple of days.
And this is just the sewing stuff.

Day 170 of 2016

Another season of Symphony on the Prairie kicked off this weekend.
Among other things, the orchestra played
Dvorak's Symphony No. 9, "From the New World."
It is one of my all time favorites.
I have heard this piece a million times both live and recorded,
but tonight it almost made me cry.

Day 169 of 2016

I'm running a little late but I am so excited to be
sewing for a boy.

Day 168 of 2016

When gathering with friends for a quilting getaway,
I always find it necessary to cut, pack and bring way more projects
than I can possibly get done in the time allotted.
You never know.
I might be especially speedy or I might get bored.
Or I might go home with all the projects still in their bags.
I hope not.

Day 167 of 2016

I am sending some greetings out of the country.
Pretty stamp.
Let's see how long it takes.

Day 165 of 2016

This is how I bind.
(I realize, based on pictures and people I have seen, many may say I do it upside down.)
As I generally only bind in the evening after dinner,
this one seems to be taking a long time.
It's rather large.
I am going to make a push and hope for a finish sometime this week.

Day 161 of 2016

Yesterday's baking yielded a gluten free shortcake
which I put under my strawberries and toppings
this morning at the annual strawberry festival downtown the circle.
I called it breakfast.

Day 160 of 2016

Tomorrow's outing required baking today.
Come back tomorrow to find out why.

Day 159 of 2016

This view is from after 9:30 this evening.
It's not even close to dark.
It's just not right.

Day 158 of 2016

We are enjoying dinner outside on the deck these last few beautiful days
before it gets miserable this weekend and next week.

Day 157 of 2016

This boy (GB#3) has every reason to smile.
It is his birthday.  Yes, he's two.
The cake was fabulous.
It was a great day.

(Thanks to M for letting me totally copy her photo idea.)

Day 155 of 2016

Story time.
Grandpa (Fireball) reads a bedtime story to GB#3.
GB#3 holds the story time music.
