Day 298 of 2021

Monday is laundry day.
I was gone all day.
I thought I could still get it done tonight,
but it looks like I will have one more load to do tomorrow.

Day 297 of 2021

I was putting my knitting away for the night
when I thought I saw something move on the floor.
I looked up to see what it might have been
and only saw what appeared to be a piece of thread.
I had a feeling it was not so I got up to investigate.
Sure enough the "thread" began to move at great speed.
I stomped in time to stop the now dead spider.
I sat back down and heard a pop.
I stood up to find my working needle had not made it into my bag yet
and was now snapped.
Now this project will be delayed until I find new needles.

Day 291 of 2021

I've posted a similar picture a couple times.
Does anyone remember where I am?
I come here routinely about every six weeks or so.
I always hope my next visit will be further out
but it hasn't been working out that way.
So, Where am I?

Day 290 of 2021

I love this part of the walk to the stadium.
It was especially pretty today.

Day 289 of 2021

I'm doing some wedding building today
and I am reminded that the first cut is always the scariest.

Day 286 of 2021

Seasonal crafting with the kids is messy and exciting, but always fun.

Day 284 of 2021

I am shopping for something very specific.
I had never been upstairs in this store before so I thought I would look.
I didn't find what I was looking for
but I found the architecture was very interesting.

Day 283 of 2021

GB#3 wanted his mom to have a stuffed rabbit for her birthday.
He came to visit me with a vision of what he wanted and an outgrown sweater.
In my studio he drew a blueprint
and we discussed how the sweater would be used
and additional fabric options.
This is the final result of his designing, our brainstorming, and my sewing.

Day 282 of 2021

Today's work.

Day 281 of 2021

Although it was not totally unexpected
that the upper roof would need all new deck boards,
it was still a little jarring to see the house so exposed in preparation.

Day 280 of 2021

When you put glasses on GB#5
who shares her middle name with her Grandma (my mom)
who passed away three years ago,
she bears a remarkable resemblance to her.

Day 275 of 2021

M's in town so it's a good time for the hair and makeup trial
for the upcoming wedding.

Day 273 of 2021

I took pictures of two other subjects earlier in the day
but then this gorgeous sky appeared before me
in several different ways as I was out and about.
It was mesmerizing at every stage.

Day 271 of 2021

Semi-secret sewing for a special day tomorrow.

Day 270 of 2021

In the process of explaining to GB#2 how and why my new phone case
makes it easier to take photos,
we ended up with a pretty decent picture of the two of us.

Day 266 of 2021

We're getting organized for a yard sale tomorrow.
Good thing we have a supervisor to keep us focused on the job.

Day 265 of 2021

Today is the first day of fall.
To commemorate the autumnal equinox when my kids were growing up,
we would stand the egg on end.
It has been said only to work on the two equinoxes.
I don't know if it is true or not, but it is always fun.
Today I couldn't get the egg to stand, but you get the idea, right?
Happy Fall for those of you in the Northern Hemisphere.

Day 264 of 2021

I found a new drawing on the chalkboard.
I'm not sure who did the drawing,
but I always appreciate a smiling face.

Day 263 of 2021

The garage project that sent us to the hardware store required a second trip,
but we are very happy with the results.
Our yard chairs are are all in one place,
off the floor and we even have room for our picnic bags and blankets.
Of course, holes will need to be filled and painting will eventually get done,
but one small win is still a win.

Day 261 of 2021

One of our garage projects got stalled today due to a missing part.
A late evening visit to Lowe's was in order
and we were rewarded with a nearly empty parking lot
and this beautiful sky.

Day 260 of 2021

We cleaned, cleaned out and organized more of the garage today.
Most of today's work was concentrated in the workshop
which is an extension off the back of the main garage area.

Day 259 of 2021

I'm setting myself up for success.
I pressed, cut and pinned the fabric for more masks.
I didn't have time to sew today so I set them on the machine,
ready to go for the morning.

Day 258 of 2021

Fireball and I spent all day cleaning out in the garage.
You would only know progress has been made if you are a family member.
Pictures would certainly not tell the real story.
We do always find interesting things we don't remember having,
things we haven't seen in a while,
and things we know we don't need anymore.

Day 257 of 2021

I'm making school masks for little ones.
GB#4 had the good taste to pick dogwoods from Paducah for one of hers.

Day 256 of 2021

Today I'm planning a couple new builds.
Since I took this photo, I think I've figured out dimensions
so lumber shopping is on the to do list for tomorrow.

And for those who are still wondering,
I got no correct guesses as to what the new zipper bag is going to hold.
So what is it?
It is a zipper bag for a cribbage board and pegs for T-bone.
There is probably room inside to keep the deck of cards too if he wants.
Thanks for playing along.

Day 255 of 2021

It's back to games with spectators.
I made Colts masks for the occasion.

Day 252 of 2021

Another day, another quilt top.

Day 251 of 2021

For my birthday, Fireball and I had a nice lunch out
and made a small road trip to an antique mall.
I found this fun butterfly quilt top.
It was a good day.

Day 250 of 2021

Hey, I made a thing.
What is it?
Yes, we all can see that it's a zipper pouch, but what is its purpose?
What is it?
