Day 303 of 2018

This is the tree in my front yard at my favorite stage of transformation.
I especially love it when this stage and a rainy day coincide.
It seems to make the dark brown darker and the yellow and gold glow.

Day 302 of 2018

That sure is a mouthful for a little guy on a hungry Monday afternoon.

Day 300 of 2018

Fireball's birthday and Pumpkin Carving Day fell on the same day this year.
My pumpkin fell on the floor and split open,
but I did not let that stop me from finishing the carving.
I could not get the settings on my camera figured out
and switched fast enough to catch the birthday boy with three busy grandchildren
in a picture that was not blurry beyond repair.
But it was a great day.  Happy birthday, Fireball.
Through it all, every day, you are my rock.

Day 296 of 2018

This top was purchased at the same time as this quilt
It clearly has problems.
I figured I would just use it for longarm practice
and then cut it off square when I was done.
Only when I got it home did I do some measuring.
Little did I know that there was over a ten inch difference in the length of the top
measured through the middle and at the edge.
Some of it is machine stitched, some of it hand stitched.
It was probably made by more than one maker.
Tonight I was accused of adopting "difficult children."
We'll see how I do.
I expect lots of tucks, but I will do the best I can and have some fun.

Day 295 of 2018

The distraction level can get pretty high when I am trying to clean and organize,
especially when I find sweet little writings that M did many years ago.
I like that she hugs her sister a lot and likes to play with her brother.
On the next page she drew her other brother
and talks about going to his school to hear him sing.

Day 293 of 2018

Organizing.
Category:  yarn.

Day 292 of 2018

I'd like to give a special thanks to Fireball for informing me
about this amazing sunrise.
It definitely made my day, not only the sunrise,
but also the fact that he took the time to let me know about it.

Day 291 of 2018

Fireball and I stopped by the post office today
to send out some Halloween greetings.

Day 290 of 2018

I bought this quilt in northern Indiana over the weekend.
The colors and fabrics are really fun. (zoom in)
I thought the edges were interesting too.
The scallops are concave on two sides and convex on the other two.

Day 289 of 2018

I'm trying to get back into the long lost habit of making dinner.
Tonight I've chosen to repeat a favorite.

Day 288 of 2018

Sometimes a calm and centering activity is what is needed.
Organizing my fabric shelves by color fits the bill.

Day 287 of 2018

This is my favorite section to browse in the bookstore
on a Sunday afternoon.

Day 282 of 2018

After a long, hard day,
it was so nice to come home to Happy Mail from Bermuda.
I can't wait to see what goodies GB#1 sent me.

Day 281 of 2018

It's nice to have friends who come and sit with you...
and bring chocolate.

Day 280 of 2018

And now the sorting begins.
Is it good or not, open or not, expired or not, donate-able or not?

Thank you for all your thoughts and kind comments on yesterday's post.
I am truly touched.

Day 276 of 2018

Mom and I sat on the porch near her new apartment.
The weather and view were perfect.

Day 275 of 2018

I believe in allowing extraordinary moments to sneak in
while accomplishing otherwise ordinary tasks.
