Day 164 of 2025

Tonight we got to go see GB#3 participate in a musical
after two weeks of musical theater camp.
He had fun being in the show and we had fun watching it.

It was really good.

Day 160 of 2024

You know the saying about things getting worse before they get better?
Well, I hope that's what's happening here.
The steps of the monument have never looked worse.
Oh, and can you see the tiny white building in the background on the left?
That's where we're headed tonight.

Day 295 of 2023

The halftime show at the game today featured
 the Purdue University marching band.
This photo is for my brother who attended the school.

I'm back at my computer so I will be filling in the blanks this week.

for a fabulous Kickoff Concert for my birthday.
Our first regular season football game is Sunday.

Day 312 of 2020

Shapes in the morning light.

Yesterday's concert was solo piano by George Winston.
He is doing another one on Sunday at 7:00PM EST on YouTube if you are interested.
It will be live only with no replay.

Day 311 of 2020

Fireball "took" me to a concert tonight.
It was great!
Any guesses who is performing here?

Day 179 of 2020

Fireball and I "went to" a concert tonight.
We actually went to the den and set up the live stream concert.
It was great and we had the best seats in the house.

Update on yesterday's post:
It seems that I actually bought enough of the fabric
to make a table runner and two kitchen towels,
so in total, I hemmed six ends.
I also figured out why I got stuck on the project in the first place.
The fabric is navy, red and cream.
I remember thinking I should match my thread
(and change it in the middle of the hem)
to whatever color was showing on that end.
In the end I just changed my thread to cream and did all the hems the same.
I do overthink these things.
Conclusion:
It took longer than thirty seconds but...
DONE.

Day 238 of 2019

It's time to load some new-to-me music I found at Half Price Books.
I'm excited to listen to all of them,
after I finish my current book, of course.

Day 193 of 2019

When I go to Symphony on the Prairie
I expect to see musicians, people, picnics and much more.
The last thing I expected to see tonight was the Vince Lombardi Trophy
for the Colts 2007 Super Bowl win, but there it was, the real deal.

Day 170 of 2019

Without the crew setting it up and tearing it down, there would be no show.

Day 331 of 2018

We bought tickets to the show and got the new CD for free.
It arrived today.
I can't wait to listen to it.

Day 166 of 2018

Today was opening night for the summer of Symphony on the Prairie.
The program was The Music of Star Wars.
It was a wonderful evening -
great music, an evening with my best guy, sunset, fireworks,
and an appearance by Mr. Moon and Venus.

Day 43 of 2018

This is our beautiful theater.
Photographs and video recordings are forbidden during performances
(although many people were taking them anyway)
so I took this one just before the second half of the program began.
John Williams conducted the music of John Williams.

Day 259 of 2017

GB#3 is singing along with the band.
He was so excited when they began singing "Heartbreak Hotel."
It's one of his favorite songs.

Day 196 of 2017

Pink clouds at the Prairie.
Tonight Fireball and I took GB#3 to Symphony on the Prairie.
Good times.

Day 189 of 2017

I always seem to take the same picture when we attend the Symphony on the Prairie,
so on this gorgeous night I decided to go with something different.
