Day 54 of 2026

It was a happy mail day.
M sent me a new sticker for my water bottle.
The sentiment is so accurate.

Day 42 of 2026

The book I folded for Fireball a few years back has flattened out a bit,
but it's back on the mantel for at least February.

Day 361 of 2025

Today we had Big Christmas at our house.
Little E crocheted chickens with their nests for all the young ones.
They were a hit all around.

Day 286 of 2025

GB#5 recently became a five-year-old.

I presented her with the new mittens I made.
She was very happy with them.

Day 217 of 2025

When we were in San Diego Little E gifted me with a beautiful shawl she knit.
I plan to take it with me on an upcoming trip
so I thought I would give it a nice wool wash soak and blocking.
Even in cool water it was bleeding color.
I believe it was coming from the contrast color trim yarn.
I rinsed it five or six times and it finally stopped.
It now lies on a beach towel on a bathroom floor
along with a cute cropped sweater
that Little E made for me a couple years ago
that I also plan to take with me.
I hope they are both dry in time.

Note: All previous Big Adventure posts (Days 204-209)
have been updated with photos.

Day 61 of 2025

I got Fireball an advent calendar for Christmas last year.
We are just now figuring out the proper order for display.

Day 49 of 2025

After I made the Valentine coasters for Fireball,
I planned to give him a few Jack-o-Lantern coasters for Halloween.
I did a very nice fabric pull and got the first face completed
but the finished coaster never happened and the other faces didn't either.
Today the one and only coaster made it to the finish line
and sits on our coffee table.

Day 20 of 2025

The sweater is being photographed today.
I love these little buttons so I had to get a close up.
Below is a full picture.
I'll get it packaged up this week to send off as a gift.

Day 16 of 2025

There is still no light so I took this first finished project picture
in the light of my sewing machine.

Day 363 of 2024

I'm taking some time to knit a little this week between holidays.
This is a Christmas gift for Fireball that didn't get made.
He understands.
I'll get back to the house in the new year.

Day 339 of 2024

I got behind on my advent calendar again so today I opened two boxes.
Day three surprise is a very smooth pair of scissors.
Day four is a Christmas pillowcase kit.
I'm loving the artwork and color scheme this year.

Day 143 of 2024

Most of the flowers that Fireball gave me for Mother's Day
were way past beautiful and found their way to the trash today.
These are the last two that still have maybe a day or two  left in them.
I will enjoy them until they just can't hang on any longer.

Day 142 of 2024

I've finally started on this LEGO set
I received as a Christmas gift in 2022.
I hope to finish it this week.

Day 131 of 2024

Mother's Day is Sunday.
I received a package containing an early gift today.
The colors are beautiful and the candle smells amazing.

Day 121 of 2024

This zipper pouch is done and off in the mail.
I've put a notebook and my feet with it for scale.
This is the largest size on the pattern.
Here's a peek of the back so you can see
how I merged the initial with the unicorn fabric.

Day 119 of 2024

I'm trying to merge this initial with some unicorn fabric.
I'm having quite a time trying to
wrap my head around how to get it just right.
Maybe tomorrow.

Day 93 of 2024

It's time to go home, but first I have a couple updates for you.
The two bags I made before our travels made it here with us
and were given to Little E and L.
They are meant to be used as dice bags which is what they will do.
Because there are mesh divided pockets inside
they could also be used for jewelry as was guessed on the What is it? post.

My goal of making the crocheted Wednesday doll did not happen.
No matter what light I tried to work in, including bright daylight,
it was impossible to see my stitches when working with the black yarn.
I stopped my efforts and brought all the pieces with me.
I offered it to Little E to make if she wished.
She took up the challenge and finished it just after we departed.
GB#1 was delighted to find that the figure was actually for her.
