Day 322 of 2025

Today was a very gray and rainy day.
At one point this afternoon I thought I heard a very loud truck
dropping things on my neighbor's driveway.
I went to investigate but saw nothing.
It was only later I realized that we were having a thunderstorm.
Later I caught a glimpse out the kitchen window
and noticed the eerie yellow sky.

I took this photo through my kitchen window
and the focus ended up on the screen.
While this was not my intention,
I am liking the feel of vintage pictures that this gives
with the slight blur behind the screen and the yellow tone.

Day 244 of 2025

I had Fireball pose as my stand-in model
as I tested camera settings and camera position
before asking him to take pictures of me in my new sweater.
It worked well but I did notice that our height difference
made a difference in the final pictures.

Day 23 of 2025

A long time ago I took a photography class for film cameras.
In class we made these reference cards to carry in our camera bags.
I know with all the light meters available to us on our phones,
 it's not really needed anymore,
but I thought M might find it interesting
since she has taken up film photography.

Day 2 of 2025

Thanks to M for showing me the light meter app she uses
 for her film photography.
I'm using the same app here with my DSLR to experiment
shooting indoor, low light pictures on manual setting.
Above is my very overstuffed notions bag
that desperately needs a clean out.

Day 268 of 2023

Sometimes I can't read the very fine print.
I suppose I should have a magnifying glass on hand,
but I don't,
so I usually take a picture with my phone and then zoom in.
Problem solved.
The tiny print here to the right of the bar code in this photo
has the issue number which I needed to know.

Day 241 of 2023

I was able to get a quick appointment at the eye doctor.
This reminded me of one of the first blog pictures I ever took.

Day 163 of 2023

On the day that you see the retina specialist and a treatment is required,
the only thing that can be done is to take a nap
because it seems impossible to keep your eye open
due to the pain and the light.

There was no driving today so after above mentioned nap,
I decided to sort through the photos on my magnetic board.
More recent pictures have been selected
and will be ordered soon to finish up the transformation.

Day 287 of 2022

This was my view all day.
After finding out from the Apple Store that my old computer was too old
for them to migrate my computer's content to my new computer,
we took it home where Fireball did the migration for me.
It worked all night but was successful.
There was an issue with IDs and passwords
which, after an hour and a half phone conversation
with a very knowledgeable support tech,
 was able to be resolved.
So after a few more glitches which I still need to work on,
I finally got to upload photos, draft all my missing posts,
and now post them all for you...and me.

Day 156 of 2022

This is the worst thing that could happen
 when you've spent three days
trying to capture the essence of a person's ninety-two years
in forty photos and that project is due tomorrow.

Day 320 of 2021

The things you find while looking for other things-
This time it's one of my very favorite pictures of me with my dad.

Day 133 of 2021

A camera is a tool for learning how to see without a camera.

Day 129 of 2021

My kids always post great photos in our family group texts.
I never have one to share.
Today I found one from one of the very few (only?) times
we had our picture done professionally.
Our neighbor had a photography studio and took these in our own back yard.
On this Mother's Day I want you to know
I am so honored to be your mom.

Day 77 of 2021

Yesterday was happy mail day.
I received this beautiful calendar and cookbook
with the sweetest note on the postcard.
If you don't know about Farm-ily
go check out her blog or find her on Instagram.
Her photographs are beyond beautiful.
Thank you, Lynda.

Day 57 of 2021

I love this style of camera strap.
I have one on my other camera that is black.
I found the teal and lime one and thought it would be nice to have some color
and to have the ability to differentiate the two cameras at a glance.

Day 10 of 2021

It seems ignoring these plants has not had a detrimental effect.

Finding the white balance control on the new camera has been frustrating.
This picture came out horribly
so I finally abandoned the instruction booklet and googled it.
I think I have it finally figured it out.
The next few pictures will tell.

Day 251 of 2020

Tomorrow is my birthday.
I got an early gift.
I have a lot of reading to do.

Day 109 of 2020

Hello from our house.
Fireball and I decided to do a Stay-at-Home photo shoot
courtesy of my tripod and the built-in timer.
I did a lot of running back and forth as I could not locate my remote today.
