Final result tonight after it finally stopped snowing. 

9 1/2 inches on the patio table on the deck in the back yard. 

Everything is shut down tomorrow. 

 

Day 348 of 2025

This morning we can see the results of yesterday's snow. 

It is expected to be very cold today and tonight 

so the roads are going to be a challenge for a while. 

Besides all that, it is a beautiful sight.

While the painter works downstairs,

 I'm upstairs dreaming up quilts, 

specifically chevron quilts.

Here are our snow results. 

As you can tell, our trees aren't even done losing leaves. 

Luckily, it will still get warmer and we will be able to get the leaves up

 before it snows again.

Our first snowfall of the season begins. 

It won't stick around. 

It's going to be back in the 60s by the end of the week.

It snowed all night and into today. 

After it stopped I measured it (8 1/4") on our outdoor table 

with one of my quilting rulers. 

Below I've taken a wider shot so you can see 

the impressive edge on the side of the table.

We're expecting quite a bit of snow. 

It has begun.

 

Day 308 of 2023

I'm working on some late night knitting with all my little lights 

and I've made some sort of mistake on the edge stitch. 

I don't intend to tear back the last three rows 

so I'm going to drop the stitches and pick them back up again. 

I'm not holding out much hope

 as the edge stitches do their own kind of twisty thing 

that I can never quite figure out.

I am making good progress on this project. 

 

Day 246 of 2023

My knitting has been sporadic lately, 

but after I accidentally knit an extra inch of the ribbing, 

I have now arrived at a quick and easy part of this project. 

 

Day 214 of 2023

I've started something new. 

I started this project in New York in May with a different yarn, 

but I wasn't liking the feel of the completed knit fabric

 so I tore it out. 

I ordered this new yarn which I really like 

but have had a tough time getting gauge. 

I've worked out a solution (I think) and have begun the actual project. 

I haven't forgotten about my socks 

but they have come to a spot that requires quiet, daylight, 

and some serious thinking. 

I'll get some time on my calendar for that soon.
