Day 334 of 2018

I'm making color palettes from some of Mom's clothes and household textiles.
I'm hoping I can work out some quilts sometime in the new year.

Day 333 of 2018

It was a good day.
Many things could not have turned out better.
I may have bought myself flowers.

Day 332 of 2018

I am totally obsessed with this wall.
My phone needed a new battery.
Guess where I spent 3 hours this afternoon.
That's right.  Sitting on a wooden cube staring at this wall.
Ok.  I did a little doodling.
But mostly I obsessed about this wall.

Day 331 of 2018

We bought tickets to the show and got the new CD for free.
It arrived today.
I can't wait to listen to it.

Day 330 of 2018

While there are lots of things on my to-do list,
I only had one real goal for today.
Success.

Day 329 of 2108

Downtown on the circle
 the Soldiers and Sailors Monument
has been decorated and lit up like a Christmas tree
and is surrounded by oversized toy soldiers and sailors.

Day 327 of 2018

Before the rain started, it was mild and dry.
Now it is wet and the temps are going to drop soon.
Today was the logical day to put the outdoor lights up.

Day 320 of 2018

My grandmother, Polly, was an artist.
She painted this scene before I was born.
I really like it.

Day 316 of 2018

Fall collides with winter on my chalkboard
just as it is doing here in real life.

Day 315 of 2018

This is Veteran's Day at the stadium.
Veteran's were honored throughout the game.

Day 314 of 2018

I am finally happy with my design and had some printing done.

Day 313 of 2018

I was doing so well until I came across this.
I knew this would take me longer than I had today
so I will look forward to tackling it another day.

Day 312 of 2018

This business has moved to another location.
I can only speculate
that there are fire department training exercises about to begin.

Day 310 of 2018

NOT MY WORK,
but the cutest show and tell tonight at my quilt meeting.
It's a Bunny Hill pattern that one of our members quilted for a client.
Those snowmen will get their eyes when they return home.

Day 309 of 2018

What is it they say?
Oh yeah, things always get worse before they get better.
I'm sorting through my own papers.
These are mostly from 2010 through 2014.
There are lots of expired coupons.
I did find a couple things I was looking for though.

Day 308 of 2018

Almost exactly six years ago Fireball and I started the office redo.
Most of the construction has been done for years.
The major road block (mental block) has been installing the doors.
Almost exactly two years ago I found the instructions for making a jig
to help with the mechanics of that.
Another year went by before we made the jig.
Today, six years after the beginning of the project,
we finally got the first four of eight doors installed.
We have some minor issues to take care of including
the second door of each pair not closing,
an easily fixed problem.
I attribute that to all the coats of paint we added to the original doors.
Now that we are halfway there,
here's hoping we can get an official finish before another November gets here.

If you'd like to see where it all began and some progress,
check out all the posts with the labels Building and Construction
that can be found in the sidebar on the left side of the blog.

Day 307 of 2018

There are advantages to leaving a spare key with your parents
who live three minutes from your house.

Day 306 of 2018

I know Mom liked this picture of herself.
I like it too.
Pardon the blur.
Taking a picture of a picture that is over forty years old is tricky.

Day 305 of 2018

This morning Fireball told me that it was pretty miserable out
and that if I didn't have to get out, I shouldn't.
Later he asked me if I had started building an ark.
I didn't have to go out so I didn't,
but I kept an eye on the ditch out front
so I would know when to start building.
