I know I haven't finished my unspecified animal crochet project, 

but this yarn arrived and I need to sneak this project in. 

It will become a crocheted hat very soon.

I've been a real homebody this winter. 

I don't get out much so when I did get out today and saw this sky,

I am taking a wonderful online quilting class from Bethanne Nemesh. 

Today I watched about five hours of class. 

I am very impressed by her knowledge, experience and teaching style.

More happening tomorrow.

 

Day 52 of 2023

I finally got the rug placed back in the guest bath today 

along with a couple other small tasks. 

It seems that last 2% of the job is so hard to get done. 

I feel ready to move on but know

 I really can't until this one is completely finished. 

There are just a couple more things now, 

but I have to wait for caulk to cure.

These are called Raindrop Drawstring Bags. 

They hold a good amount of Hershey's Kisses and conversation hearts.

It's too late to start now but I need to make some little gifts for tomorrow. 

I settled for just fabric selection and pressing tonight.

I've made my first charcuterie board. 

I wanted to make something fun for game day with a football theme 

and after getting some inspiration from Pinterest, 

this is what I came up with. 

It was delicious.

Today I did the scary (to me) thing. 

I know it's not perfect, but it will be better.

After taking up some of the carpet at the Old House, 

we knew we would need some type of trim piece 

to transition from one level of flooring to another. 

I have searched the wood trim sections of the home improvement stores. 

I found nothing there and have described to employees

 what I was looking for. 

They have sent me to the sections with the ugly metal transition strips. 

They are not what I am looking for. 

Finally today, at yet another store, 

I found a nice employee who was very knowledgable 

and seemed to genuinely like helping customers. 

He sent me to the right department where I did find the piece I needed

 with the exact profile I wanted

 and had been describing to everyone to no avail. 

I was starting to think that I was making up something that didn't even exist. 

I feel better now.

It's my opinion that all towels could benefit from having hanging loops. 

I'm taking care of that today.

Welcome to guest bathroom adventures. 

Today while removing old caulk and grout, 

I also needed to remove one loose, wobbly tile. 

After removing that tile, the one next to it also came out. 

Now I need to replace two tiles and figure out what to do with that large gap

 where the backing board doesn't reach the tub.

Tomorrow I will definitely be doing some research.

I'm learning a little about electrical work today 

so I can replace two switches and an outlet. 

Fireball was very helpful.

I'm not sure why it took me 35 years to change the Contact Paper 

drawer and cabinet liners in the guest bath, 

but I am so glad I did it today.

I'm not very good about remembering to water my plants

 so when I do the small ones they usually go into the sink

 for a little shower and then a good soak. 

I am working on habits lately and hope I can find another weekly habit 

to which I can attach this one.

(Please don't worry. I will wash and disinfect the sink 

before working on any food prep or dish washing in this same sink.)
