Day 233 of 2020

This evening's activities included embroidery and crochet.
I basted a quilt on the longarm earlier but that wasn't much of a picture.

Day 229 of 2020

Remember when I was stitching those snowflakes down?
Pictures of them are posted here, here and here.
Well, since I couldn't find my pattern (It's in a book I can't locate)
I drafted the pattern for the snowman arms
and pinned them on the top to see if they would work.
I have finally purchased some brown fleece for these arms
and have them ready to stitch.
This quilt will get done eventually.

Also to clarify, the masks from the other day are for Fireball and me.
If you have to wear a mask, it might as well be fun.
Here is the link to the pattern I used for this batch.
The video shows you how to make it.

Day 337 of 2019

This cross stitch blanket has seventeen sweet motifs on it,
 all sewing related
and all looking as beautiful on the back as they are on the front.
This is not my work.
It was given tonight to a friend in my quilting group by another friend in the group.
It was given to this second friend by her friend who found it at Goodwill.
Isn't it funny how things come around?

Day 227 of 2019

I have just recently been reacquainted with this project.
If I were to take a guess,
I would say I started stitching it over thirty years ago.
It is way past the window of usefulness for its intended recipient.
So now the debate is going on in my head.
Do I finish it and give it to someone else
or give it to someone else to finish it and use it how they like?

Day 194 of 2018

I'm working on snowflake number three of three.
I will be so glad to be done with these.

Day 138 of 2018

I am still stitching snowflakes.  This is definitely some slow stitching.
The snowflake measures about twelve inches in diameter.
The good thing about this one as opposed to the other two
is that this one is a continuous line from start to finish.
The only time I will need to stop is when I run out of the current piece of thread.
The bad thing is that I may be at it forever.
Only five and a half more spokes to go
and then it's back to the others to finish the inside cut-outs.

Day 120 of 2018

Mom's very well loved sweater needed some attention,
so I did some almost invisible zigzagging
near the edge of the turned up cuff
to prevent any more raveling from the holes
that have become too large to ignore.
Then I added a little embellishment
over the machine stitching in one of her favorite colors.
I hope she likes it.

Day 114 of 2018

I've begun the stitching around these snowflakes
with a lovely, shiny thread I bought over the weekend.
I do wish I had thought through the glue placement a little better though.
I am running into it occasionally as I stitch which is slowing me down.

Day 121 of 2016

Cathy!
I finally saw the exhibit.
I am so glad my favorite gown is part of the display.
