Day 270 of 2023

I'm still working my way around the kitchen
cleaning outsides, insides and contents of each cabinet.
Today I finished this ten foot bank of floor to ceiling cabinets
 containing the dishes and pantry.

Day 93 of 2023

I've had some setbacks to my schedule the last couple days.
A crown popped off my tooth, I sewed my finger with the sewing machine,
and today I am looking for something I just can't find.
What to do? Clean out my purse.
It's on my list anyway. Easy win.
Besides, I've never seen it look so organized.

Day 47 of 2022

I was so excited to finally get to change colors and start the heel flaps.
I am following the instructions to the letter
and have checked them over and over
as my flap isn't showing the pattern I know from pictures
and past experience should be appearing after this many rows.
While waiting for my computer to load tonight,
I watched a video on YouTube
and checked the sock instructions from the 1965 booklet
and now I know the problem is with the pattern.
Tomorrow I will be tearing out this beginning of a heel flap
and knitting it as I know it should be.
I have read through the rest of the pattern
and have some issues with some of the future instructions.
I may be winging it from here.

Day 298 of 2021

Monday is laundry day.
I was gone all day.
I thought I could still get it done tonight,
but it looks like I will have one more load to do tomorrow.

Day 208 of 2020

I took a poll.
This was the winner for the next puzzle to work.
I'm not sure what my strategy will be.
There are no defined areas of concentrated color which is where I normally start.
I'll keep you updated.

Day 338 of 2019

Once a year I update the sign up sheet for my quilt group.
Once a year I get really frustrated trying to figure out how to do it.
I'm hoping this year will be different.

Day 301 of 2019

I am packing and intend to have no checked bags.
This is hard for me as I'm not sure I've ever done this before.
I can't tell you how many things have been in the bag
and then back out of the bag.
It doesn't help that the weather forecast
calls for a twenty-eight degree drop in temperature
from my first day to my second day,
and there is going to be some rain thrown in just for good measure.
I am packing lighter versions of everything and plan to layer, layer, layer.
Rolling clothing seems to be working well.
I have a running list of last minute things to not forget,
like the portable phone charger.
I always remind myself though that most everything forgotten
can be purchased once I get to my destination.

Day 288 of 2019

Our power went out just about an hour ago.
The power company estimates power will be back on after one o'clock in the morning.
Luckily we still have a few light sources from charged devices
and our internet service is evidently working on backup battery.

Day 258 of 2019

My next project is going to take some thinking outside the box.
I did a lot of research and brainstorming today.
I think I'm off to a good start.

Day 247 of 2019

They weren't kidding when they titled this puzzle.
Here's a little backstory.
My mother-in-law brought this to Thanksgiving dinner in 2014.
It is a full two page spread of the paper.
The clues go over 800 in each direction.
Many of us worked on it then and for a bit after that.
Once home by myself, it was up to me.
I had to tape it onto our drafting board to make it workable.
I have worked on it on and off for the last five years.
Tonight I finished it.

Day 89 of 2019

GB#2 and GB#4 had a cheer competition today.
They both did so well,
but the pick for picture of the day goes to GB#2, the little flyer.

Day 364 of 2018

The Indianapolis Colts are headed to the playoffs
after a very rough beginning of the season.
I believe it has a lot to do with this coach.

Day 296 of 2018

This top was purchased at the same time as this quilt
It clearly has problems.
I figured I would just use it for longarm practice
and then cut it off square when I was done.
Only when I got it home did I do some measuring.
Little did I know that there was over a ten inch difference in the length of the top
measured through the middle and at the edge.
Some of it is machine stitched, some of it hand stitched.
It was probably made by more than one maker.
Tonight I was accused of adopting "difficult children."
We'll see how I do.
I expect lots of tucks, but I will do the best I can and have some fun.

Day 220 of 2018

Sometimes Mom has trouble remembering what day it is.
She requested a calendar on which she can cross out the days.
Since her eyesight is not what it used to be,
I made the calendar a really big one, a desk pad sized big one.
I have taped it up on a closet door for best viewing.
I hope this helps.

Day 89 of 2016

I started quilting the fourth of four quilts I committed to finish by April 5th
as a part of my small group's Winter Challenge.
