I took this picture last night before I went to bed. 

Technically it was today as it was around 3:00AM. 

These headbands will look so cute on the flower girls at Saturday's wedding. 

I made them very late last night (very early this morning) 

because they needed to be done 

and I still had enough energy to accomplish just that.

I'm wrapping up a few last wedding things today. 

When a copper wire basket needs to be gold, 

enter my DIY spray painting booth made from an extra large box

 that just entered my home via a home improvement purchase

 and some fishing line. 

I hung the basket from the fishing line

 through a hole in the top of the booth 

and sprayed all sides at one time.

I do wish I had thought of taking the picture earlier in the day.

I believe the light would have been better.

but today we were outside, hence the hat.

Fireball in the midst of leaf pick up. 

The most interesting part of this picture

 is that he is wearing a hand-me-up jacket from Little E 

from more than twenty years ago. 

It's still in great shape and he uses it as his cold weather yard work jacket. 

The ear warmer headband was made by Little E much more recently.

Little E back in high school wearing the same jacket.

I know it may not look like it here, 

but I organized, cut 

and framed a lot of wedding paper goods and signage today. 

Check that off the list.

In the 1982 animated short film The Snowman, 

the original version is narrated at the beginning 

with a wintery scene very similar to this. 

It felt very wintery today.

Now I want to sit down and watch The Snowman by Raymond Briggs.

The train table was in need of some serious dusting 

so I got out the vacuum and the horsehair brush. 

I'm feeling much better about it. 

 I noticed as I was getting ready to post this picture though I missed something. 

Do you see what doesn't belong? 

I also noticed that the last four posts didn't have much color in them 

so I'm glad I happened to find a bright and colorful subject for today.

With just over two weeks until M and the Trumpeter's wedding day, 

and so much to do, 

my regular planner just isn't going to cut it. 

I'm transferring everything from my planner and my phone calendar 

onto these huge squares. 

From there I'll add specific tasks on specific days and get everything done.

When you know it's going to be a busy day

The leaf looks suspended but it is really sitting on the windshield.

I'm reading through a pattern I'd like to make in this magazine I just received. 

I like to read through a pattern before I begin

 not only to make sure I understand it, 

but also to make sure I understand what I am getting myself into. 

Does anyone else do that?

I was trying to do some car crocheting when I realized I did not have a marker

 that is needed to indicate the first stitch in each round. 

I couldn't tell where I was in this round, how far I had to go 

or what I did to make the shape start to flatten out instead of stay nice and round. 

I got nauseous tying to figure it out - dark yarn, moving car - so I stopped. 

I'll figure it out tomorrow after I find a marker, 

have better light and am sitting still in a chair.

This wedding build was finished just before all the daylight was gone.

It turns out that my idea on how to build a very large, top-heavy structure

 by building it upside down

 and then enlisting some help from next door to turn it over, 

was a very good idea indeed.

On the way home from last night's game, 

we made a stop to have Fireball evaluated at the emergency room.  

He is doing fine and will follow up with his physician as directed.

The temperature dropped into the 20s overnight. 

That was enough for the ginkgo tree to drop leaves like it was raining. 

Usually this happens after the leaves have mostly turned yellow, 

but today's leaves were mostly green.
