Day 181 of 2026

Every laundry day I start out with eight of these dryer balls.
Sometimes I end up with eight.
Today I ended with six.
I am curious to find where the others went.

Day 61 of 2026

Eight taco shells nest nicely in a full circle
 but four is trickier.
To avoid letting the last shell collapse
making it nearly impossible to fill,
I've arranged these like a Girl Scout friendship knot
or cardboard box flaps.
The configuration was successful.

Day 365 of 2025

Fireball is sporting quite the hat head
thanks to the winter cold, a sock cap
and all the static electricity created by taking that hat off.

Day 183 of 2025

Funny story:
Years ago I bought the Kate Rusby songbook.
At one point I was looking for it and couldn't find it.
I couldn't find it for a very long time.
While it was lost, every time something else went missing,
we would say it was with the Kate Rusby songbook
indicating that once we found the songbook,
all the other lost items would be right there with it.
They were just hanging out together having a great time.
Today I was knitting and needed to start a new ball of yarn.
I looked in the places that I thought it might be.
I was not in those places.
I did come across the songbook though,
but, alas, the yarn was not with it.
Shortly thereafter I did find the yarn
in a quite close and convenient place.
Knitting continues.
Maybe I'll get a progress picture for you tomorrow.

Day 151 of 2025

Fireball and I spent the afternoon cleaning in the garage.
We came across a selection of greeting cards from our kids
 among other people.
We laughed so hard.
No wonder we can't seem to get rid of these treasures.
Also, have you ever noticed that children up to a certain age
feel the need to sign cards to their parents
with their first and last names?

It's our last few hours in Bermuda
and this sums up how I feel about our time here.

When you arrive at the elementary school over an hour before the show starts,
you get your choice of parking spots.

Day 15 of 2025

I finished two knitting projects today, but by the time I was done
the light was gone so photos will have to be taken tomorrow
if there is light.
I did find this funny though as I was finishing up some button sewing.
Evidently the end of these children's scissors
that I keep in my sewing kit is magnetic.
It picked up my sewing needle and a stitch marker all by itself.
I cannot explain it.

Here is a bonus picture from today.
Fireball alerted me that this was happening.
I thought you'd like to see it too.

On our way to the football game,
we pass by the current riddle.

Day 223 of 2023

I went researching and looking for a particular bird bath today
 at the bird store.
This was not it but I found it mesmerizing,
like staring at the clouds or the moon.
In it I first saw a shark and then a mushroom.
Later after viewing it from different sides,
I found a bird, a duck, a goose and an otter.
Can you find things in this bird bath?

Day 92 of 2023

Several chairs have blown over from last winter's winds.
Spring is making growing things wake up.
In the end, the grass will always find a way.
This time the blades of grass will not let the mesh chair back
 block their path
and have used the tiny holes
as the perfect invitation to grow upward.

Day 298 of 2022

A box came yesterday which neither Fireball or I had any idea of its contents.
It was addressed to him so he opened it and said, " Oh, it's for you."
I guess the packaging was not as he expected.
I told him I would have to find some books to put between the bookends
but that the machine would certainly get longer.
He said that's when it becomes a longarm.

Day 155 of 2022

I opened the pantry today and was surprised to find one shoe.
I wonder how long it has been missing.
