Day 89 of 2021

This is an attic find.
It is one of at least half a dozen unfinished embroidery projects.
I'm not sure exactly who started these.
It could have been my mother-in-law or it could have been her mother.
This linen towel is almost done so I will probably finish it,
but I struggle with this frequently.
I vacillate between feeling obligated to finish others' projects
and telling myself I should not feel obligated to do so.

Day 87 of 2021

I'm doing a lot of sorting and categorizing of some family jewelry.
This charm bracelet is an interesting piece.
Does anyone know what the charm at the far left is supposed to be?
I haven't a clue.

Day 85 of 2021

Mama Robin has been busy for the last few days.
She has built a very sturdy nest that withstood some very strong winds last night.
Today she was doing some serious interior work.
I look forward to seeing eggs here soon.

Day 84 of 2021

I baked a cake to celebrate Mom on her birthday.
She would have been 92.

Day 83 of 2021

Majestic.
At least that's what it felt like as I sat on the porch looking up at it glowing
in the last bit of today's sun.

Day 82 of 2021

After

Before

I am doing some deep spring cleaning.
Who knew we had so much dental floss?

Also, I have edited the post with the kid sized masks
to include information regarding the pattern
and my personal alteration to the pattern.

Day 81 of 2021

Yesterday I got a little sewing time.
I made a Clip and Pin Cushion, a pattern by Stitch Supply Co.

Day 80 of 2021

New blooms are popping up all over our neighborhood.
This tiny one appears to be Siberian squill.

Day 79 of 2021

GB#1 has in-person school and needs a clean mask each day of the week.
This is such a comfortable style that Little E requested a few for GB#1.
A new group of small sized masks will be going out in the mail on Monday.

Edit: Here is the link for the pattern for this mask.
It comes in six sizes which can be downloaded all on one sheet or each individually.
The instructions are in the video in the post.
I extended the sides about 1/2" so I could make a casing on each side
which would accommodate my t-shirt ties.
They are super easy to make, never slips off my nose
and make it easy to talk while wearing.

Day 78 of 2021

What do you do while you wait for your toenails to dry?
Today I'm watching quilting videos.

Day 77 of 2021

Yesterday was happy mail day.
I received this beautiful calendar and cookbook
with the sweetest note on the postcard.
If you don't know about Farm-ily
go check out her blog or find her on Instagram.
Her photographs are beyond beautiful.
Thank you, Lynda.

Day 76 of 2021

It has rained recently
and the house at the end of our street has a drainage issue
that creates a very nice spot for the ducks.
I'm sure I have posted this pair before.
Today they appeared to be very hungry and a little camera shy.

Day 75 of 2021

Now that I have finished my green socks and my trio of kitchen items,
I have been spending some time on my long, slow knit.
It now measures 29 inches as I have been taking it in the car
and knitting on it in the evenings.
I love watching the color combinations as they develop
from the two different balls of yarn.
It may get set aside again soon though
as I am really wanting to start a pair of socks
with some beautiful yarn I received for Christmas.

Day 73 of 2021

When swapping out a light fixture,
it's a good idea to take a picture before you undo all the wires.
You're welcome.

Day 72 of 2021

It seems that all the things I started today need to be fixed...
well, except dinner.
Dinner turned out okay on the first try.

Day 70 of 2021

No puzzle this Thursday but my goal was to get this whole quilt cut out today.
Success.
If you think about it, this is just a different kind of puzzle.

Day 69 of 2021

I bought one of my favorite dish scrubbies at a craft fair.
It finally found its way into the garbage disposal
and I need to make a replacement.
It has an interesting color pattern and a flower shape.
To help me make the new one,
I have made a chart and made some notes that I hope will be helpful.
Now to clear off the cutting surface so I can cut my netting.

Day 68 of 2021

The weather was beautiful today so Fireball and I spent some time on the deck
enjoying the warmer temperatures and the critter activity.
This little guy was also enjoying the afternoon sunshine
and the emerging buds on the trees.

Day 67 of 2021

I've acquired a new ring and bracelet holder.
It looks like a little sister to the one I already have for necklaces.
Rotary cutter for scale.

Day 66 of 2021

I finished my cute little crocheted pouch.
I've put some earbuds in there for you to get an idea of size.
I can see using it also for a little cash or a snack to throw in my purse.
Now that I finally, more or less, memorized the pattern,
I think I'll make a few more.

Day 65 of 2021

I snuck in a little time for crochet today and now have four flying geese.

Day 64 of 2021

We got to visit Fireball's mom today.
We were so relieved to finally be able to visit her.
Fireball last saw her in person in September of 2020.
I last saw her in person in December of 2019.

More Curiously has a quick post with both of Fireball's parents.

Day 61 0f 2021

I am planning on participating in a quilt along.
Last week's assignment was to select fabrics.
I did that today.
I always struggle with what color scheme to choose for a new project.
So many possibilities.
These fabrics were collected many years ago for another project
that I never got around to making.
I think they will look lovely in the new project.

Day 60 of 2021

I pulled out Mom's blocking mats and pins and blocked the shawl.
I'll have to wait for it to dry,
but I think it's going to come out very close to the size intended.
