Sunday, May 14, 2023

As is traditional, I attended the Decorators' Show House again this year.
This was one of my favorite rooms.

Day 84 of 2022

As it seems a tradition now,
we are celebrating the anniversary of Mom's birth with cake.

Day 344 of 2019

Tonight is my quilt group's annual Christmas party.
We always have a fat quarter exchange in White Elephant style.
These fat quarters must be wrapped so I made good use of Mom's paper cutter
as I made a couple little bags for mine.

Day 330 of 2018

While there are lots of things on my to-do list,
I only had one real goal for today.
Success.

Day 215 of 2018

As you know by now, if you have been reading my blog for a while,
I love hot air balloons.
To kick off the beginning of the State Fair,
the traditional Giant Hot Air Balloon Race took place this morning.
I had not intended to go chase the balloons this year,
but rather was going to just wait to see if they came near my house
and get some pictures overhead if they did.
As luck would have it,
they did come very near and Fireball alerted me of such activity.
I did see a glimpse of one balloon from my driveway
but it disappeared behind the trees
so I hopped into the car, camera in hand,
and drove in the direction I knew they were heading.
Almost right away
I found several of the balloons landing in a clearing behind the grocery store.
Since I tend to post the overhead shots frequently,
I thought I would go with the deflating process for today's picture.

Day 76 of 2017

It has become a tradition over the years
to buy a Christmas ornament while visiting another city.
This trip was no exception.

Day 51 of 2017

This new little bird ornament has found his place on the mantel.
he can stay there all year and then take his place on our tree next Christmas
before being put away with the rest of the ornaments.
The same goes for the little pumpkins
except that they will get put away with the fall decorations.

Day 12 of 2017

When a habit becomes a tradition:
For years I just didn't get around to taking the tree down
until after the middle of January.
Then one year M proclaims that we never take the tree down until after her birthday.
Nope.  We don't.  That would be unheard of.
So now the taking down of the tree after M's birthday (coming up very soon)
is a tradition at our house.
But before the tree comes down, I need to take the picture of myself in the ornament,
an even newer tradition.
