Day 251 of 2025

I went downtown for a birthday lunch date with Fireball today.
We walked from his office to the restaurant and just as we arrived,
I saw the building that I posted about yesterday right in front of me.
It really is huge.

Day 216 of 2024

Fireball and I finally finished installing the indoor trim
 to our new sunroom door
 by reinstalling the over-the-door shelf.
I forgot to take pictures while the sun was still out
so this nighttime, indoor lit shot will have to do for now.

Day 202 of 2024

Good morning!
I'm so glad you could come to help me work today.

Day 192 of 2024

I'm trying to get some home projects done here
instead letting them stay stuck in the 90% done phase.
Still to be done:
Prep and repair surrounding wall,
paint same wall,
prep trim, cut trim, install trim,
finishing caulk,
reinstall over door shelf

Day 161 of 2024

I have been wanting to get something like this shallow shoe storage chest
for some time for our laundry room,
so when Fireball suggested we go take a look around IKEA,
I thought it would be a great time to see what they had to offer.
I was really excited about the idea of this model until I got home
and measured the space I have.
It would be too tall for our space
so I immediately started looking for woodworking plans
to make my own to my specific dimensions.

Day 76 of 2023

You know I love building things and seeing how things are built.
I saw this slant-roofed "grill gazebo" and had to see how it was made.
I took a couple pictures.

Day 63 of 2024

Besides a good power wash, the deck needs a bit of repair.
It has come to our attention recently that the two boards
which I have removed were rotten.
Upon closer inspection, it appears that I will need to remove more boards
to determine exactly how much will need to be replaced.

Day 218 of 2023

We have an outdoor table which lost its glass in a storm several years ago.
I have off and on had a plan to make a replacement top for it.
Because the frame is and the glass was curved,
the replacement comes with challenges.
We probably should have put the table frame out by the street a long time ago,
but I have been reluctant to do it
because I am convinced I can make something work out.
I measured the table frame again today and have a plan in mind.
Look for progress pictures soon.
My goal is to have it done by the end of the month.

Day 315 of 2022

Fireball and I completed the fire pit tonight
with some coordinated teamwork.
It was a timely finish as it was getting too dark to work,
and the temperatures are going to be much colder
for at least the next week,
making the use of the block adhesive inadvisable.

Day 311 of 2022

I've got my base layer for the fire pit down and tamped,
but I'm losing daylight
so the final leveling will have to wait until tomorrow.

Day 308 of 2022

I'm checking the depth of the hole I'm digging.
The base layer is next and then the fire pit building can commence.

Day 143 of 2022

This space used to house our grocery store.
It has been vacant for many years.
I am excited to see that it is being transformed into something else.
I am curious to see what that something will be.

Day 133 of 2022

Today I learned how to install bi-fold closet doors.
This is something I have wanted to know how to do for a while.
Today was the day.

Day 26 of 2022

Fireball and I went to the home show today,
and while there were many lovely things to see,
this was probably one of my favorites.

Day 7 of 2021

Remember when this bank building was being torn down?
Well, evidently we needed a Krispy Kreme here instead.
