Day 180 of 2025

Yesterday I acquired three large containers
full of textiles including crocheted items,
old trims, and embroidered things.
Today I am sifting through the containers.
There are some keepers and some items I'll pass along.
I especially like the hand embroidered things.

Day 89 of 2021

This is an attic find.
It is one of at least half a dozen unfinished embroidery projects.
I'm not sure exactly who started these.
It could have been my mother-in-law or it could have been her mother.
This linen towel is almost done so I will probably finish it,
but I struggle with this frequently.
I vacillate between feeling obligated to finish others' projects
and telling myself I should not feel obligated to do so.

Day 327 of 2020

I found a couple little cross stitch  patterns that I thought were cute
so I thought I would raid my stash of embroidery floss
to see if I had the colors to make one of them.
After I finally got the numbers more or less converted to the kind of floss I own,
I looked in the three-drawer container of floss and
this is the only color I had on the entire list.

Day 233 of 2020

This evening's activities included embroidery and crochet.
I basted a quilt on the longarm earlier but that wasn't much of a picture.

Day 229 of 2020

Remember when I was stitching those snowflakes down?
Pictures of them are posted here, here and here.
Well, since I couldn't find my pattern (It's in a book I can't locate)
I drafted the pattern for the snowman arms
and pinned them on the top to see if they would work.
I have finally purchased some brown fleece for these arms
and have them ready to stitch.
This quilt will get done eventually.

Also to clarify, the masks from the other day are for Fireball and me.
If you have to wear a mask, it might as well be fun.
Here is the link to the pattern I used for this batch.
The video shows you how to make it.

Day 138 of 2018

I am still stitching snowflakes.  This is definitely some slow stitching.
The snowflake measures about twelve inches in diameter.
The good thing about this one as opposed to the other two
is that this one is a continuous line from start to finish.
The only time I will need to stop is when I run out of the current piece of thread.
The bad thing is that I may be at it forever.
Only five and a half more spokes to go
and then it's back to the others to finish the inside cut-outs.

Day 120 of 2018

Mom's very well loved sweater needed some attention,
so I did some almost invisible zigzagging
near the edge of the turned up cuff
to prevent any more raveling from the holes
that have become too large to ignore.
Then I added a little embellishment
over the machine stitching in one of her favorite colors.
I hope she likes it.

Day 121 of 2016

Cathy!
I finally saw the exhibit.
I am so glad my favorite gown is part of the display.

Day 101 of 365

This is not my handiwork but it is absolutely lovely.
Does anyone know who did this embroidery?
No fair guessing if you already know where I went!
