Day 223 of 2026

I was not able to attend Flock Fiber Festival this year

 as it was too close to our San Diego trip. 

It would have involved a one day layover at home 

before flying back to the other side of the country.

M agreed to be my personal shopper 

and grab some things I had my eye on 

and to pick what she thought I would like

 when there were options.

 My happy mail arrived today 

and I am very happy with my haul. 

M is a great personal shopper.

 

Day 184 of 2026

I tried to pick this little empty storage drawer up

 to remove it from the big room 

and it completely shattered. 

It's a good thing I had already decided

 that I didn't need it anymore.

from the photo shoot of this quilt that did make the blog that day.

Day 54 of 2026

It was a happy mail day. 

M sent me a new sticker for my water bottle. 

The sentiment is so accurate.

When some of your family members live over 3,000 miles apart, 

great hugs are in order.

Today M and I are going to Flock Fiber Festival in Seattle. 

There will be yarn, fiber, ideas and sheep.

Today we hiked with M and The Trumpeter around Snoqualmie Falls. 

It was definitely worth the drive.

Day 346 of 2023

I came across a photo album while working on the house today. 

This photo is one of my favorites of M and me from the album. 

I did not realize until I pulled it up on my computer how very blurry it is. 

I decided that it was still better than the other photos I took today 

of a trip and fall incident which resulted in a bag of down pillow filling

 bursting leaving a comically absurd amount of fluff 

all over the room I was cleaning, 

resembling the aftermath of a pillow fight, 

my hair completely covered in said fluff which Fireball had to vacuum out, 

or the injury to my hand in which blood was involved.

 

Day 290 of 2023

 

The museum we wanted to go to was not open today 

so we climbed the 107 steps

 to the top of an old observation tower instead. 

We ate dinner at separate restaurants

 to give M and The Trumpeter

 a chance to celebrate their anniversary alone. 

We met up again for some molten cakes for dessert.

What a surprise it was today

 to get a delivery of flowers for Mother's Day tomorrow

 from M and The Trumpeter.

 

Day 111 of 2023

I gave Big D some options for a hat to accessorize a costume

 he will be wearing tomorrow for an event. 

He selected the long green striped number. 

(all hats handmade by Little E, M and me)

 

Day 349 of 2022

Earlier in the month while Little E was in town, 

she crocheted a dinosaur chicken chunk for M. 

Tonight M found it under the tree. 

She loves it. 

I realize this may be confusing for some

 but it represents a fun family memory.

Day 165 of 2022

Before I begin the Swoon sew along, 

I thought I should finish this up for M. 

She made these blocks in 2015. 

She got as far as sewing the blocks together into rows 

and attaching one horizontal sashing piece. 

Yesterday I found all the pieces for this project and finished the sashing. 

Today I cut and attached the borders. 

This one's done and now goes into the quilting queue.

 

Day 141 of 2022

M and The Trumpeter came into town late last night, 

attended a wedding tonight and are leaving early in the morning. 

I failed to get a picture of them,

 so this is my only photographic evidence that they were here.

 

Day 139 of 2022

Fireball and GB#5. 

You'll notice that GB#5 is holding a picture of little M 

with Fireball from many years ago. 

I believe GB#5 was a little bit jealous 

that Grandpa would be with another "baby" 

so she climbed right up into his lap.
