Day 23 of 2026

Back on Wednesday when I cleaned out the hall closet, 

I decided to move the box on the top shelf to another location

 so I could keep all our luggage together. 

I moved the box today and put it in its proposed new spot. 

Unfortunately, it won't work there but also can't go back where it was. 

I have stopped trying to figure that out today 

but will come up with a solution soon. 

What's in the box, you say? 

It's my wedding gown which my mom made for me. 

I know you cannot see it all here, 

but it is a long dress with short puffed sleeves

 and a separate lace pinafore. 

Mom did the embroidery on the neckline 

and more secret stitching on the inside portion of the hem. 

I did not unseal the box so I can't tell you exactly 

what is stitched there but I do know that 

our wedding date is part of it.

Fireball and I attended a wedding today. 

I love this idea to represent the bride and groom.

I took this picture last night before I went to bed. 

Technically it was today as it was around 3:00AM. 

These headbands will look so cute on the flower girls at Saturday's wedding. 

I made them very late last night (very early this morning) 

because they needed to be done 

and I still had enough energy to accomplish just that.

I'm wrapping up a few last wedding things today. 

When a copper wire basket needs to be gold, 

enter my DIY spray painting booth made from an extra large box

 that just entered my home via a home improvement purchase

 and some fishing line. 

I hung the basket from the fishing line

 through a hole in the top of the booth 

and sprayed all sides at one time.

Still building here, 

but today we were outside, hence the hat.

 

Day 323 of 2021

I know it may not look like it here, 

but I organized, cut 

and framed a lot of wedding paper goods and signage today. 

Check that off the list.

 

Day 319 of 2021

With just over two weeks until M and the Trumpeter's wedding day, 

and so much to do, 

my regular planner just isn't going to cut it. 

I'm transferring everything from my planner and my phone calendar 

onto these huge squares. 

From there I'll add specific tasks on specific days and get everything done.

 

Day 313 of 2021

I was trying to do some car crocheting when I realized I did not have a marker

 that is needed to indicate the first stitch in each round. 

I couldn't tell where I was in this round, how far I had to go 

or what I did to make the shape start to flatten out instead of stay nice and round. 

I got nauseous tying to figure it out - dark yarn, moving car - so I stopped. 

I'll figure it out tomorrow after I find a marker, 

have better light and am sitting still in a chair.

This wedding build was finished just before all the daylight was gone.

It turns out that my idea on how to build a very large, top-heavy structure

 by building it upside down

 and then enlisting some help from next door to turn it over, 

was a very good idea indeed.
