I found the book I was looking for the other night. 

It took six minutes.

When I talked to Little E today, I forgot to show it to her.

This is where I keep most of my knitting and crochet books 

along with some of my sewing, but not quilting books. 

I am looking for one in particular 

that I was telling Little E about this morning. 

Do we want to guess how long it will take me to find it

 or if I will find it here at all?

It reminds me of the Richard Scarry books

 that we read all the time when the kids were little.

I really love heart and house quilts. 

I found this new-to-me quilt book (©2016) at Half Price Books tonight 

that includes one of each and several more quilts that appeal to me 

for less than the cost of one pattern. 

I consider this quite a bargain.

I'm trying to incorporate some new habits into my days. 

While I really enjoy listening to audio books, 

I do have some hard copy books in my possession 

that I'd like to read. 

I've decided to add reading of these into my routine. 

I picked just ten minutes for the time I will spend. 

I could read longer if I want and time permits,

 but my goal is just ten minutes. 

It doesn't sound like much but it will be quite effective.

Fireball and I decided to hang out at the book store

 after dinner tonight. 

I was surprised to see all the Easter things out, 

but I'm not mad about this colorful display.

my preorder arrived a day early.

Tonight I'm reading a cookbook, a calendar and a quilt pattern.

As I am clearing things out, 

I came across a box with this whole book series inside. 

I don't take the time to sit and read much, 

but evidently I read the first three of this series 

and passed the books along to friends in my quilt group. 

These days I listen to my books on audio mostly from my local library.

(I get so much done around the house this way.) 

In the past I have checked for these books on audio

 and my library did not carry them.

 I thought I'd give it another shot and checked today. 

Now they do have all her books. 

I may get to "read" this whole series after all.

The first book is The Quilter's Apprentice by Jennifer Chiaverini

so educational reading is a necessity.

I'm getting back into my routine but took a break

 to look for this book that I was reminded that I have. 

There are some great patterns I've marked for future projects.

I was recently gifted with a second rubik's cube. 

I have found that my shashibo box in this configuration

 will hold them both. 

I bought the book on the bottom in Bermuda in April. 

It's a book of of stories that I have not yet begun. 

Has anyone read it?

I sewed some today. 

All the things I put together had to be taken back apart. 

I also cut the next piece as indicated by the pattern

 and then realized I had cut the wrong piece. 

I have no more of the canvas or lining fabrics. 

Now I will have to come up with a solution to fix my error. 

After my "unsewing" I thought I'd read a little in the book I can't seem to finish. 

Unfortunately, my library doesn't have this one in audiobook format 

and tonight I am really struggling to keep my eyes open and my brain engaged.

A Sunday delivery revealed this book

 filled with adorable dolls for the zodiac.

The girls borrowed this book a while ago

 from a little free library in the neighborhood. 

I borrowed the audio book from the library on my Libby app. 

Tonight we merged the two as we listened to the audio book 

while following along in the hard copy book. 

Delightful.

This little booklet, copyright 1965, is a treasure trove of knitting patterns. 

Some of the fashion choices, especially the hats, are a bit suspect, 

but the basics of mittens, socks and gloves are great. 

I took a break from knitting my socks in the car 

(I can only knit for so long before finding myself feeling queasy) 

to actually read through the basic sock pattern. 

It has always intimidated me with all the charts

 and rows of numbers for the eight different sizes offered.

It seems quite customizable for my short foot with a high instep. 

I'll probably try this pattern for my next pair.

I'm reading through a pattern I'd like to make in this magazine I just received. 

I like to read through a pattern before I begin

 not only to make sure I understand it, 

but also to make sure I understand what I am getting myself into. 

Does anyone else do that?

Normally I like to listen to books

 but this one is not available from my library on audio

 and I know it's going to be one I'll need on hand to refer to as necessary. 

I've glance through it and read random pages, 

but tonight I am diving in from the beginning.

I'm sitting down with my second Mother's Day book tonight. 

A long time ago I used to make some of my own clothing. 

I have been itching to do more. 

I am hoping to learn a little more and get inspired.
