Day 210 of 365

I received the latest issue of American Quilter in the mail yesterday.
That's my quilt!  Yep, I made the blue and orange one.
I started it at the Beaver Island Quilt Retreat with Gwen Marston last fall
and finished it at home.
I even made the close-up on the table of contents page.

Day 209 of 365

The search for more backyard flowers to photograph
reveals a begonia shimmering in the afternoon sun.

Day 208 of 365

The pots on the deck are filled with lovely annuals.
The snapdragons (yellow in this picture) are a family favorite.
When the kids were growing up we would make the flowers "talk" to them.
Now they are "talking" to the little grands.

Day 207 of 365

This is an art installation called "Jetstream."
You can read more about it here.
It covers the ceiling in the main public area of our airport.
It reminds me of jellyfish.

Day 206 of 365

This is what every little one needs...
a good start on a library of books to grow up on.

Day 204 of 365

Coming up is a big race weekend in town.
Several cars and their sponsors were on display at my local grocery store.

Day 200 of 365

Ok, this is not a great picture but I am testing some of my new knowledge.
This is a variation on the sun flare photo.
I am getting the starburst effect that I wanted on the street lights now,
and the streaks are the lights from a car that went by in the very long exposure.
Now to find a better location.  I have one in mind.

Day 199 of 365

I can't pass up a photo of a great atrium ceiling.
I am thrilled that I caught it during the "blue hour."

Day 198 of 365

I'm remaking a couple t-shirts today.
I'm so glad I bought this machine.

Day 196 of 365

I am still trying to get better at sun flare photography
and to capture the essence of early evening that I see when I take these photos.
I like this shot but have just read even more about how to achieve the effect
and it makes me want to get right back out there and try again.

Day 195 of 365

Nailhead in woodgrain

Day 194 of 365

Tiny cupcakes for a "Meet the Baby" open house were a big hit.

Photo taken July 13.

Day 193 of 365

A nice human family is throwing bread pieces on the other side of the canal.
All the other ducks and geese have gone to see if they can get some.
Ultimately, she decided to join them.

Photo taken July 12.
Yes, I am and everything is okay.
We have been without phones, television and internet for the last three days.
The line from the pole to the house had to be replaced.
Evidently they don't last forever.

Day 192 of 365

We were back at the Prairie tonight
where this tethered balloon takes visitors up for a view.

Day 191 of 365

The garden gate needs a little attention.
It's not as cool as Raewyn's webs,
but I couldn't resist taking a shot at these webs in the afternoon sun.
I really just need to dust it off.

Day 189 of 365

I'm taking photos for identification labels on the toy bins at our house.
It's never too soon for the little ones to learn what goes where.

Day 188 of 365

I continue to organize my new studio.
This is near my pressing station.

Day 186 of 365

GB#3 is one month old.
So begins a year of monthly pictures.

Day 185 of 365

Happy 4th of July!

Thanks to Pinterest for the strawberry idea.
They were even more delicious than they look.

Day 184 of 365

I probably could have used this one as a "what is it?" picture,
but since I already have one outstanding I thought I'd better not.
This is a bag of sweet corn I bought at the farmers' market for tomorrow's dinner.
I can't wait!

Day 183 of 365

The Daily Puzzle

Oh, and I'm officially halfway through my 365 days.
