Day 179/365
I know it is new technology, but M and I call these aliens.
The first time we ever saw them they came out of a snowy fog.
They seemed to multiply and keep coming.
It was quite creepy, so creatures from somewhere else they are.

Day 171/365
Color inspiration for the "Abstracts in Solids" workshop coming up next week.
Maybe I'll try it. We'll see.
It's not too far out of my comfort zone though.
Maybe I should try something different.
We'll see.

Day 168/365
Ever since I bought Little Lady, she has needed a new felt pad in the drip pan.
Today she finally got it along with a cleaning and oiling.
She sounds so smooth and happy.

Day 167/365
At our quilting meeting tonight one of our members showed this beautiful quilt she is making for her son and daughter-in-law.

Day 165/365
I bought a new jigsaw puzzle the other day because I thought it was just too pretty.
When I got home I turned it over to see who the artist was because
I couldn't get over how much I liked the illustration.
It made perfect sense once I read her name.
I already read her blog and follow her on Instagram.
Check her out at Geninne's Art Blog, to see more beautiful stuff.

Day 162/365
After two sides and two corners of binding I remembered a tip I read somewhere.
(Sorry, I don't remember where I read it.)
I also don't remember exactly how she stated it, but it went something like this:
Begin a couple inches before a corner. Work up to the corner, work the corner and then a couple inches past the corner. Knot and cut your thread. Repeat on the other three corners. Now stitch the straight sides of the binding. If you don't like corners you don't have to think about them anymore and the rest is smooth sailing. Even if you don't mind corners the rest of the binding should go quickly with no corners to slow you down.
I have now stitched my remaining two corners
and am ready to breeze through the remaining straight sides.

Day 161/365
Ta-da!
My latest finish is a gift for GB#3 for his first birthday.
It was fun and fast.
I think it is the fastest I have made a quilt from cutting to completely finished...ever.
Quilt specifics: Pattern, Backyard Fun by Janie Lou Quilts (appears to be out of print)
Fabric, Backyard Baby by Michael Miller

Day 159/365
I have a quilt finish to show you
but the weather was not cooperative today for picture taking.
In the mean time I am reloading my basket of three.

Day 155/365
This guy knows what he wants, and he knows how to get it.
What you can't see in the picture is that he is standing on the squirrel baffle.
Not exactly what it is for but it works for him.

Day 154/365
Here's a sneak peek at a secret quilt that went on the frame,
got quilted, and came off the frame all on the same day - today.
Binding happens tomorrow.
(Quilt shown in black and white to protect its identity.)
