My large crochet continues to grow and is nearly done.

The Cottonwood "snow" has been falling all weekend. 

Day 150 of 2016

Progress on the shed project is happening, 

not quite as quickly as we had hoped, but it is happening.  

The old floor is gone.  

After a lot of clean up of the ground under the rotted floor, 

we got a plastic barrier down, 

new joists installed and almost all of the new floor installed.  

That last piece is going to force me to learn how to use my table saw 

to rip a board to the right size.  

I am both nervous and excited.

Day 149 of 2016

Our Memorial Day weekend project is cleaning out the shed 

and fixing the broken floor. 

Here is the before picture.  

Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture before it was empty.   

We made great progress today and will be out in the morning to continue.  

I'll keep you posted.

Imagine my surprise when I opened the mailbox today to find a box sitting in it. 

I was not expecting any packages. 

I opened the very heavy little box to find this small cabin filled with 

 pure maple syrup from Maine from my brother. 

I cannot wait to try it.

Thursday night at the movie theater. 

Almost no one there.

Hangers are assigned by color. 

Mine are green. M's are teal. 

The cream ones are extras in case one of the other colors runs out.

I've decided to try some large crochet. 

I am using yarn made from t-shirts. 

It is going well so it is time to make more.

I have finally gotten started on the Candy Corn Quilt. 

Sometimes I don't really know what I want to quilt on my quilt 

until I start quilting. 

(Do you think I said the word "quilt" enough in that sentence?)

I guess I have committed to doing pebbles with the occasional swirl 

in the black areas. 

Oh yes, and a few spider webs.

age-appropriately, of course, with plastic forks.

Today was a most gorgeous day.  It was cool in the shade and warm in the sun. 

It smelled like a campfire as someone nearby had a fire going. 

I spent a good bit of time outside taking it all in. 

This picture doesn't do it justice, 

but it will serve as a reminder to me of the wonder that it was.

We made the trip about an hour down the road today 

to visit this little sweet one (GB#2) and her sister

...and their parents, of course.

Tonight was declared movie night so

we ran over to the store for some movie snacks. 

We watched Captain America:  The Winter Soldier in preparation for the upcoming 

Captain America:  Civil War.

Since I finished quilting the giraffe quilt yesterday, 

today I prepared the backing for this quilt. 

It has been waiting patiently in the "next up" spot for a good long while. 

Many quilts have slipped in ahead of it. 

I think it's time.

I can see this one from the kitchen window. 

It's out there with the chipmunks, squirrels and the birds at the feeder.

as I make some alterations on a dress for M.

The last several weeks have been hectic and emotional.
