It's New Year's Eve. 

I finished a knitting project last night. 

There is football on TV. 

There is nothing else to do but cast on something new.

 

Day 364 of 2021

I finished this tiny hat, so I guess the short rows worked out ok. 

A picture of the whole project will be posted soon, 

after it has been given to its recipient.

 

Day 363 of 2021

I worked a short row section according to the directions tonight 

that was totally different than any other short rows I've done before. 

I think it turned out well. 

Time will tell.

What a fun evening with friends.

I definitely need a haircut. 

I'm debating between a small change and a major change. 

Of course, I need to do some research. 

I'm not opposed to taking photos of hair I like. 

This one is on the cover of a magazine. 

I also took pictures of a stranger in the store, 

with her permission, of course.

My knitting tools have finally outgrown their little pouch. 

I've been having a hard time finding things in the overstuffed pouch 

without dumping everything out each time. 

Thinking that I should make a bigger pouch, 

I realized that I had already made the perfect container. 

Since I made the Sew Together Bag, I had not found a specific use for it, 

but that changed today.

Fireball and I had a very Merry Christmas full of Peace and Quiet. 

It was just what we needed. 

I hope you had the Merry Christmas you needed too.

You know I am highly distractible. 

While looking in the kitchen desk drawer for small Post-it notes, 

I came across my puzzle rings. 

They were quite tarnished so, of course, I had to start polishing. 

I found Post-its somewhere else.

The dishes have been changed. 

I'm really feeling the traditional red and green this year. 

(meadow, slate, scarlet, evergreen, shamrock, white)

We set up the white tree today

 and threw on a few handmade ornaments I made last year 

and suddenly it's Christmas.

I'm sharing my breakfast since the rest of the day got away from me

 and I have no other photographic proof

 with the exception of my pedicure

 which I thought better of showing here. 

Breakfast: Leftover mashed potatoes with gravy

 topped with an over medium egg.

GB#1 and Bear are off on their next adventure. 

It's very quiet at our house.

All the little girls played one last time before parting ways 

until next time. 

At a red light on the ride home, 

I glanced back to see that GB#4 had fallen asleep.

We made ice skating wishes come true today. 

GB#1 and  GB#3 took to it very well 

and it all came back to R after a little "ice" time.

 

Day 345 of 2021

Here is evidence that GB#1 is staying with us. 

She is loving the page-a-day Tangram calendar from 2009 that I never finished. 

Each day I give her another week's worth of puzzles to solve. 

She keeps getting faster at the problem solving. 

GB#1 is also fascinated with our glitter bottles - hours of fun.

We got new shirts for the little ones. 

We will not be all together this Christmas, so gifting happened early.

I'm deconstructing the bridal bouquet and am loving the details.

I did get a chance to get some photos of the secret wedding project. 

I made a corgi puppy.

I've moved on to Christmas projects, 

but I have a secret wedding project I'll show you soon 

if I can get a chance to photograph it.

As things start to calm down, 

Fireball, Little E, GB#1 and I found time to play a new-to-me game 

that Little E and GB#1 recommended. 

It was tons of fun and I can't wait to play again soon.
