Day 31 of 365

Do you see those wrinkles and bubbles?
Not supposed to be there!
I've thought about it long enough and come up with a possible solution.
Wish me luck.  I'll let you know how it turns out.

Day 30 of 365

Tomorrow marks the Chinese New Year.  It is the year of the horse.
I made this origami horse (directions can be found at Origami Spirit) which can also serve as a bookmark and placed it on one of my favorite books.
Yes, the dictionary is one of my favorite books.

Day 29 of 365

Even with all the cold and snow there is a promise of spring.
And just because I like you, here's a bonus picture.
Rabbit tracks in the snow.

Day 26 of 365

Monday I posed the question, "What is it?"
I enjoyed reading all the guesses.
And the answer is…
my water bottle.  I take it with me everywhere.
Thanks for playing along.

And I forgot to tell you the Ann and Joanne have joined in for the 365 days again.
You will find their links in the sidebar on the left along with the others.

Day 25 of 365

It appears my oven is missing.
I guess meals will be prepared on the stove, in the microwave
or in the crockpot for the next couple days.

Day 23 of 365

After one swatch, one start, three more swatches and a restart,
I think I finally have a replacement project for yesterday's
"not suitable for its intended use" project.

Day 22 of 365

Yesterday ended with the disappointment of two projects not going as planned.
One is not suitable for its intended use and the other needs to be undone and redone.
I've decided to deal with these obstacles with procrastination or maybe denial.
Yes, I'll wind yarn for a couple new projects.

Day 21 of 365

Today I made M my subject as I tried out a new photo method.
Instead of expensive reflectors sold as photo equipment,
I bought sunshades normally used for the car.
You know, those big shades you put in the windshield
so your car doesn't get too hot while it is parked.
M held the sunshade low to reflect the light from the window onto the dark side of her face
 for a lovely portrait.
I will definitely be trying this again.

Day 20 of 365

Thanks for the reminder, Raewyn.
I think it's time for the first "What is it?" for the year.
So send me your guesses.  What is it?

Oh, hey, three more have decided to join us for the 365 days!
You will find Lucy, Rachel and Marga over on the sidebar.

Day 17 of 365

These are dryer balls.
Up until now I have been using those plastic ones that eventually break or fall apart and still don't really get rid of the static.
I read about these and decided to make my own.
We certainly have enough yarn around here.

Day 16 of 365

Snowy roads + loss of traction = off-road introduction to the wall.

Edit:  Driver (M) is fine.  The car will need some repair but is drivable.
Status of the wall is unknown.

Day 14 of 365

It's birthday time again.
Happy birthday, M!

Printable gift wrap, gift bow templates and paper feather templates (not shown, but definitely used) are all available for download at liagriffith.com.

Ok, I've changed my mind.  Here is a picture of the paper feathers I made, too.

Day 13 of 365

There is something I need.
I can't find a ready-made version that will work.
I guess I'll have to build it.

Day 12 of 365

A little visitor came to our house today.

Day 10 of 365

These new socks are not destined for feet.
I have bigger plans for them.

Day 9 of 365

And so the thaw begins.

Doniene, Raewyn, and Casey have decided to join me in the 365 day challenge.
Be sure to visit them too.

Day 8 of 365

I know this resembles a hot water bottle but it is not.
This fabric began as two kitchen towels which I sewed into a curtain valance.
Its new life is as a bag for my tray of extra silverware which makes its appearance every holiday when the house is full of extra diners but gets stashed under the sofa the rest of the year.

Day 7 of 365

There were leaflike crystals on the sidewalk today.
I've never seen ice formations like this before.
Beautiful.

Day 6 of 365

Everyone is trying to stay warm.
I'm so glad I filled the feeders.

Day 1 of 365

I've decided to document 2014 with a photo a day.  Won't you join me?
