This is an American Dagger Moth caterpillar.
He was visiting my front porch this evening.
Evidently his "fur" is toxic
and will cause stinging, itching and possibly a rash if touched.
I did not know this at the time I took the picture.
Luckily, I did not touch him.
I wouldn't have anyway.
What an interesting wee fellow - I would have been tempted to stroke him as he looks so tactile! Pleased you didn't try :-)
