Day 303 of 2017

Here's an update on my slow knitting project from last week.
I've decided on some cables with reverse stockinette for the main body of my hat.

Day 302 of 2017

I've been cutting that fabric pull from a few days ago.
I still have a long way to go.

Day 300 of 2017

It's a birthday so I baked a cake.
Happy birthday, Fireball!
May this be your best year yet.

Day 298 of 2017

We had a little visitor tonight.
I'm so glad it occurred to me to get out one of my favorite toys
from when my kids were little.
GB#3 and I played and raced marbles all evening after dinner.
He was so excited.
Now if I can just find more than two marbles,
we will have some epic races next time.

Day 297 of 2017

I am very slowly working on this hat,
usually a couple minutes at a time waiting for appointments.
I am using a technique I saw on Pinterest
that allows the knitter to use a circular needle that is too long for the project
by working some of the stitches on one double pointed needle.
Since I saved the idea, the instructions on how to execute it disappeared.
Luckily, with perseverance, I have finally figured it out
and it has come in handy on this little project.

It's your turn to write the caption.
Please leave your caption in the comments.

Day 294 of 2017

She thinks I can't see her but the afternoon sun gave her away.

Day 293 of 2017

Early morning hardware store warehouse sale.
Simply overwhelming.
(And this was just part of it)

Day 292 of 2017

Because I don't have enough irons in the fire,
I am thinking something for Halloween.
Crazy?  Maybe.  Inspired?  Yes.

Day 291 of 2017

I found the cutest ceramic creamer today.
I can't wait to put it on the table at Thanksgiving dinner.

Day 290 of 2017

I spent a good amount of time today sorting my tiny scraps.
As I sorted, I alternated between planning how I was going to sew them together
and wondering why I kept them in the first place.

Day 289 of 2017

I hung the "pizza" quilt today.
Last year I finished this quilt on Halloween just in time to hang it.
Today I sewed a sleeve on the back for use with a quicker hanging system.

Day 288 of 2017

Symmetry.
Almost.
I'm doing the best I can with what I have.

Day 286 of 2017

I've heard the term used for longarm quilting before but I think it applies here too:
Border Alert.
I have reached the point of the sixteen row garter stitch border
and the last of the last ball of yarn.
(Color is much darker than it appears here.)

Day 285 of 2017

Technology.
Love it. Hate it.
I have "read" my first audiobook through my local library on an app on my phone.
So far, so good.
Next I go to the app to check on my position on the wait list for another book.
Now the app won't let me into my account.
It says I don't have an account.
I can see my bookshelf right there with the book I just finished.
To leave out the middle and get to the end of the story, I have resolved the issues.
I look at the clock.  It is past midnight.  Did I take a picture today?
Yes.  I took a picture of a book that arrived in the mail for Little E.
I sent her the picture to see if she wanted me to ship it to her
or save it here for her next visit.
Whew, that wore me out.

Day 284 of 2017

Tonight I tried another new-to-me recipe that Little E sent me.
Of course, I omitted some ingredients and substituted others per our taste,
but it was SO good.
Here is the link if you are interested.

Day 283 of 2017

I got Happy Mail!
My envelope was full of color, sunshine, hearts, people, flowers and fun.
Thanks, guys.  This made my day.
I am still smiling.

Day 282 of 2017

While helping Mom at the craft fair on Saturday,
I got to do a little shopping.
I bought another little carved snowman.
I thought he would make a nice buddy for the one I bought last year.
I was told by the maker that this style is a girl.
Of course. Different hat.

Day 281 of 2017

Sunday.  Game day.
Open window at the stadium.
I never grow tired of this view.

Today was a good day.
We have a new statue in front of the stadium,
a jersey was retired,
and the home team won in a nail-biting overtime.

Day 280 of 2017

Yes, that small section of stockinette stitch
is actually supposed to be garter stitch.
Yes, I frogged it.
I am trying so hard to get to the last ball of yarn on this project.
I will not be discouraged.
Onward.

Day 279 of 2017

I found this little lady I made a million years ago in my studio today
while looking for something else.

Day 277 of 2017

I know technically it is not the full moon until tomorrow,
but we are finally expecting rain and the moon may be covered by clouds.
So this is Waxing Gibbous 99%.

Day 274 of 2017

You were all correct in answering the recent "What is it?" question
It is indeed my suitcase handle with its luggage tag.
I have just arrived home from MQX Midwest and am incredibly inspired.
I hope to be showing you some of what I got to work on soon.
