Day 120 of 2018

Mom's very well loved sweater needed some attention,
so I did some almost invisible zigzagging
near the edge of the turned up cuff
to prevent any more raveling from the holes
that have become too large to ignore.
Then I added a little embellishment
over the machine stitching in one of her favorite colors.
I hope she likes it.

Day 118 of 2018

Oops.
I've got a "typo" in my bullet journal setup for next week.
Oh well, I am definitely looking more for function than perfection.

Day 117 of 2018

Hey, girl!
This beauty was parked next to me today.
Look at that smile.

Day 116 of 2018

This is the mallard equivalent of out for a walk on a beautiful spring day.

Day 115 of 2018

I have been hoping for a nice blue sky day
before the Bradford Pear loses its beautiful white blooms.
Today we got that day.

Day 114 of 2018

I've begun the stitching around these snowflakes
with a lovely, shiny thread I bought over the weekend.
I do wish I had thought through the glue placement a little better though.
I am running into it occasionally as I stitch which is slowing me down.

Day 113 of 2018

I was so happy to see this robin
building a nest on our shade structure this morning.
It has been years since this has happened.
I hope the nest survives the rainy weather and we get to see young robins soon.

Day 109 of 2018

I think I've come up with a new solution for an old problem.
Maybe now I will finally get this work-in-progress done.

Day 108 of 2018

Today you get a bonus picture because I couldn't decide which one to show you.
I am finally caught up on the sew along, if only for a couple days.
There is no clear cut theme for these two weeks
but you will find favorite fat quarters I finally cut into,
scraps from projects of mine and M's, and several family members represented.
I added a few chimneys this time around,
but I'm not sure I loved the process or the effect enough to make any more.
I am over halfway done with the blocks though
and I'm still loving making these little lovelies.

Day 105 of 2018

Mom's daffodils are in bloom.
She requested that they get cut and put in a vase.
I will take these to her hospital room tomorrow for her to enjoy.

Day 104 of 2018

Sixteen heads without hats.
Oh, I mean houses without roofs.
Hopefully the roofing crew will have time to stop by tomorrow.

Day 101 of 2018

I caught this cute couple out for a walk today in front of the local pharmacy.
Luckily, the automatic doors did not open.
I'm pretty sure they would have gone inside.

Day 100 of 2018

Fireball holds the phone as we have a call with M on speaker.
We have not talked much since she moved across the country.
It was good to hear her voice
as we normally communicate by text.

Day 99 of 2018

Last week was quite busy with appointments so I had very little time in my studio.
I did get some fabrics picked out but no sewing happened.
Over the weekend Fireball helped me dismantle the ironing surface
on one of my sewing islands (more info about the islands here)
so I could do a slight revision of it for better functionality and to recover it.
The revision build is complete and I have picked out the new fabric,
seen here under my decision-making mess.
Now the search is on for the staple gun.  It's here somewhere.
In the mean time I can once again work on houses.
I'm hoping that in a couple days I will have houses done for weeks 8 and 9.
I'll post a picture.

Edit:  I meant to say weeks 9 and 10!

Day 98 of 2018

How about some ready-made quilt palette inspiration in the paint chip aisle?

Day 95 of 2018

The Ginkgo is ready.
Now if the weather would just cooperate.

Day 94 of 2018

I've been in this hospital a million times,
but have never had the opportunity to see this beautiful ceiling until today
as it is in a different part of the building than our regular visits.

Day 93 of 2018

I got the chance to lay out all the house blocks I've made so far
at our quilt meeting tonight.

Day 92 of 2018

Once again we awoke to a winter wonderland.
I really do love it when the heavy, wet snow clings to the trees.
By afternoon, there was no evidence that it even happened.

Day 91 of 2018

We're just watching the cheese age
as we eat brunch at a local dairy farm and creamery.
