Every year I take pictures of these irises.
Every year the color isn't quite right.
Today I wanted to take a picture
before the storms take the last of them for the year.
It was already raining but I took the picture anyway, and guess what?
The color came out perfect.
Note to self: Take purple iris pictures in the rain.

ReplyDeleteI grew up with iris...lots of them! My great grandmother hauled them all the way from Kansas in a covered wagon to plant in Texas. My grandmother, mother, myself and my daughter have all planted them wherever we have lived. Now we have plants all around Texas & even in New York. But...the one pictured is my sweet Daddy's favorite of all the colors we have. This picture just made my day with so many happy memories!
