Day 152 of 2020

One block for week 6 and a weird arcing rainbow glare.
More to come.

Day 151 of 2020

Day 4 of the Big Build.
It wouldn't be right for me to not show you the completed product.
Yes, it's done.
I think I can speak for everyone on the build team when I say
that this brings a great deal of satisfaction to say we built this ourselves.

Day 150 of 2020

I finally finished my week #5 (last week) blocks, the teacup,
for the Mug Quilt Sew Along.
I am currently caught up.
I now have until Sunday night to start and finish my week #6 blocks,
the pedestal mug.

Day 149 of 2020

At Christmas I made lavender eye pillows for all the GBs.
GB#3 has a stuffed bunny he named Teapot
and requested a lavender eye pillow for him too.
He made a special request that the fabric have carrots on it.
I think this fits the bill.
Check that off my list.

Day 148 of 2020

I finally made my puzzle boards into official design boards for use in quilt making.
I'm sure you will still see them in puzzle assembling too
as I did find them very helpful.
A fourth one, not shown here, is already in use for my mug blocks.
I used Lori Holt's instructions that can be found on her blog here.

Day 144 of 2020

We're helping on a building project this weekend.
It's been a while since I've done a build and I am wiped out.
Hopefully we can finish it up tomorrow.
GB#3 will be so happy.

Day 143 of 2020

I got distracted while looking for something.
Instead of sewing, I ended up doing a fabric pull.
Did I find what I was looking for?
No, I did not.

Day 142 of 2020

It's week five for the Mug Quilt Sew Along.
It's time for teacups.
I have all the pieces cut and ready for sewing tomorrow.

Day 141 of 2020

Last night during our virtual quilt meeting I took the giant puzzle down.
It took me less than half an hour to undo what it took me a month to put together.
I started this new one which feels so tiny in comparison,
and I'm about one third done already.

Day 138 of 2020

It's our anniversary again.  Forty-five years.
It's still the best decision I ever made.
Here is this year's tiny heart to add to the jar.

Day 135 of 2020

Here come the storms.
Steady rain and rolling thunder accompanied me in the studio as I sewed today.
It was comforting with nowhere to go anyway.

Day 134 of 2020

This afternoon I cut. This evening I sewed.
My blocks are done for this week.
Making all the fabric choices for the rest of the quilt really helped me.
I think this is my new favorite group.
Yes, there are eight.
One may have to go on the back.  I just couldn't narrow it down.

Day 131 of 2020

Happy Mother's Day.
I didn't get to see my people in person
but we had a Mother's Day Zoom meeting with everyone present.
It was so good to see you all together at the same time.
Thank you for making the meeting happen.
I love you all so much and can't wait to hug you all so tight.

Day 130 of 2020

I've decided to select the fabrics for all the rest of the mugs.
I don't do well having to stop and make decisions all over again every week.
It takes too much time and energy.

Hey, Little E, see anything here you really don't like?

Day 128 of 2020

3,999 pieces.
37 3/4" x 53 1/2"
Finished at approximately 2:45 this morning.
My first puzzle update was April 4th and my first mention was March 30th
so I estimate that I started it around April 1st.
I worked on the puzzle alone and at times early on wasn't sure I could finish it,
but I knew if I put it away, I would never get it back out to try again.
During this time I have also made mug blocks, challenge blocks and masks,
watched movies, walked, painted, lopped tree limbs and baked, lots of baking.
There have been days in which I did not work on the puzzle at all
and on others I did nothing but work on the puzzle.
I'm not taking it down any time soon
so I will keep looking for piece number 4,000.
It's here somewhere.

If you'd like to look back at my puzzle journey and progress,
scroll down on the blog
until you see the section called Labels on the left sidebar
 and click on "puzzle."

Day 125 of 2020

Happy Anniversary to my in-laws
who have been married now for sixty-eight years.
Love you guys.

Day 123 of 2020

Puzzle progress update.
I know it hasn't been a week, but Spring is done
with the exception of that one piece on her chin.

Day 122 of 2020

Fireball changes the blade on the chainsaw
as we begin to tackle the job of the fallen tree.
I twisted my ankle on the way out to the yard
so I was hanging out on the swing until it settled down.
Then we were ready, me with the loppers and Fireball with the chainsaw.
We made great progress but have more to do.
My ankle held out but now it is swollen and bruised.
Fun times.
