Day 243 of 2022

Target has flannel sheets in fall colors.
I'm thinking I might need some.

Day 242 of 2022

I made a t-shirt yesterday.
I started late though so I had to hem the bottom and sleeves today.
I'll be wearing it the rest of the day.

Day 241 of 2022

I opened my very large box today
and it is indeed a 30 yard roll of 96" wide batting.

Day 240 of 2022

As I am prone to do, I have changed my mind
as to what to work on next.
I have decided to make up a quick t-shirt.
I would show you the fabric but it is currently in the dryer.
I'd like to start and finish it tomorrow
so the fabric needs to be ready to go in the morning.

Day 239 of 2022

It was a beautiful night for the roof and window to be open at the stadium.

Day 238 of 2022

I received a package today that I'm pretty happy about.
The box and I are both standing on the floor,
and yes, I am wearing my new sweater again.
Any guesses? What is it?

And while we're on the subject of questions,
here is the answer to the question posed here
(Thanks, Scott, for the reminder)
Fireball and I went to Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, IN
for the Josh Groban concert.
It was amazing.

Day 237 of 2022

As I was finishing up my hair before leaving the house today,
I caught sight of these two staring at me
from just outside the bathroom window.
I'm sure they were perplexed and definitely up to no good.

Day 236 of 2022

Next up is a top I'm making from a dress pattern.
This one will need a muslin (top made in test fabric)
to check to see if my alterations are correct.

Day 235 of 2022

Today the shop was open and I found the perfect buttons.
Now it's officially done.

Day 234 of 2022

I finished my Marlo Sweater today and was in the car with the engine running,
ready to go get buttons at a local small business
when I thought it might be a good idea to check the shop hours.
Closed on Mondays.
Well, I guess I will try again tomorrow.
This sweater is a little more green than it appears here.
Also please excuse the late-in-the-day hair
that should have gone up long before this.

Day 233 of 2022

We were invited to come help chalk the windows
for the start of school tomorrow.

Day 232 of 2022

There is always the possibility of gaining some knowledge on a trip downtown.

Day 231 of 2022

This one's done.
It is a pattern called Sexy Hexy Love Quilt by Amy Butler.
I believe it was a free pattern that came out with her Love fabric line.
It looks like the fabric line (not the fabric I used in my version of it)
came out in 2009.
It is entirely possible I made this top before I even started this blog in 2012.
It feels good to have it done.

I think I came out late to get this photo.
The neighbors' tree has created shadows on the left side.
I didn't get that last time I took morning pictures.

Day 229 of 2022

Great Grandpa H is back in his apartment after almost two weeks
and no one is happier than he is.

Day 228 of 2022

This is the quilt for which I loaded the red and white wintery flannel backing
He's loaded, basted and ready to roll.
I have selected thread and changed it on the machine.
I have even started drawing out designs I think I might use
in different parts of the quilt.

Day 227 of 2022

I fluff my batting in the dryer to get the wrinkles out before loading it.
It just so happens that this is the wrong size batting
and I am now fluffing a second batting which I will load up tomorrow.
I did not know I had more than one size on hand.
Now I know.

Day 226 of 2022

In addition to quilting the top that is next up
and getting the pink and brown quilt bound,
I would also like to get at least these two garments sewn.
The green will become the Marlo sweater
and the polka dot is a thrifted dress which I will be remaking into a skirt.

Day 225 of 2022

Remember when everyone, me included, was doing jigsaw puzzles?
I kind of miss that.
Not that I don't have plenty to do without doing puzzles,
but I've gotten a couple new ones recently.
I think this one will be perfect for the fall.

Day 224 of 2022

This is the only picture I took today
besides a couple of accidental screenshots of my phone's home screen.

Day 223 of 2022

I've begun the binding on the pink and brown quilt.
I can't wait to see it on the shed when I get it done.
It just occurred to me that I don't think I got a picture of it as a top,
before quilting.

Day 222 of 2022

Since I'm on a roll getting things quilted,
I thought I'd load another one up so I'm ready.
I had a particular one in mind but found another one in the stack
that should be a quick win so I'll do that one first.
Here is the backing.
Can you guess which top I will be quilting next?
Hint: I have posted about it before.

Day 221 of 2022

This is a group project for which we each made blocks.
Two of us then put the blocks together into a top.
I took it home and did the quilting and binding.
Today we presented it to another group member
in memory of her husband who passed away earlier this year.
I want to thank everyone who participated in this project.
It was well received.

Day 219 of 2022

Fireball and I went to Colts Training Camp today.
Fireball spied the Colts general manager, Chris Ballard,
who was gracious enough to accept our request for a photo.

Day 218 of 2022

I learned something new today,
but now no one wants to use this bathroom.

Day 216 of 2022

I like to try to include a little sunshine on each quilt I quilt.
This quilt has ended up with a lot of sunshine.
Each medium sized hexagon is filled with sunshine.
And that's a wrap. Next week, binding.

Day 215 of 2022

I am nearing the end of quilting this quilt
and I think this is my favorite part of it so far.

Day 214 of 2022

You would think with all these threads in this mess of a drawer
I would be able to find a match to the mending that I needed to do.
This was not the case today,
but I found something close enough
that I don't think will be visible enough to matter.

Day 213 of 2022

Well, here we go again.
I was not so lucky as to avoid treatment for my eye today.
My vision was shot (no pun intended) for the day
so there was no chance I was going to try any quilting.
Instead, I did laundry and caught up on ironing.
