Day 90 of 2025

Joann still has some things. 

Our store keeps getting new things from the warehouse. 

Most of the yarn is gone but this one is just what I was looking for.

 

Day 89 of 2025

The Bradford pear has just bloomed and now we are expecting severe storms. 

I especially like the combination of the white blossoms and the dark gray sky. 

I hope the high winds don't cause too much damage here.

 

Day 88 of 2025

Last spring Fireball and I planted a new tree. 

This spring it has graced us with blooms.

 

Day 87 of 2025

This was supposed to be clothing week for me. 

I think I spent more time looking for things than actually sewing. 

I found this dress that I thrifted 

with the intention of making something new out of it. 

Instead I ended up remaking the current dress. 

The tiered skirt had to be removed and reworked 

so now it's time to serge all those raw, ruffled edges.

My Pi(e) Day yarn selection arrived in the mail today.

The sunset is playing tricks on us. 

This water tower is normally white but is glowing pink tonight.

When you arrive at the elementary school over an hour before the show starts, 

you get your choice of parking spots.

I have some knitting time set aside tomorrow 

so I'm planning on finishing this pair.

Here's a sneak peek of my good start on the snowman quilt today. 

 

Day 77 of 2025

I've oiled and run the machine. 

I've attached the clamps to the sides

 and took the slack out of the exposed quilting area. 

I've placed a piece of scrap fabric on the extra side batting 

and done my practice designs and checked the tension. 

I'm ready to start quilting.

Another day, another breakfast date with Fireball, 

this time between appointments.

One little adventure this week 

involved a morning date 

to a new-to-us coffee house 

from Fireball's Indianapolis Café Passport. 

Our drinks and breakfast were excellent.

Day 74 of 2025

We've enjoyed having GB#3 for the week.

 The last thing we did before we took him home 

was to go to the comic convention downtown today. 

Meeting these brothers dressed up as two of his favorite characters 

absolutely made his day.

More signs of spring are popping up everywhere.

I finished a quilt top today that has been languishing in a UFO bin

 in a closet in my studio for years. 

I'll pick a backing from my stash 

and put them together in the queue for quilting.

The eastern cottontail is hanging out in the backyard this evening.

I put my 75-300mm zoom om my camera today 

to see if I could catch the flicker at the feeder again. 

I didn't see him today but had fun photographing other visitors to the yard. 

I had a hard time deciding which picture to post 

so I posted two more over on More Curiously. 

Go take a look. There is a fan favorite over there.

 on these leaf buds on the ginkgo tree.

It's time to change the clocks, lose an hour 

and get ready for unusually late summer sunsets.

It's a full house for SIX! tonight at Clowes Memorial Hall.

Northern Flicker came to the feeder. 

I got some shots of his face but this was the best one 

that showed the red spot on the back of his head. 

Maybe he'll come back and I'll try again.

 

Day 64 of 2025

This black bag-type bin has been holding magazines

 and a couple books for many years. 

I figured it was time to sort through

 and see what I really wanted to keep

 and what could actually go. 

I picked up the bag and to my surprise

 saw magazines stacking up on the floor. 

It took me a moment to realize

 they were falling out of the bottom

 which had totally fallen apart. 

I moved the mess to the hall and sorted it there. 

Most of the magazines were dated 2004 and 2005.

 Most found its way to the recycling bin or trash, 

including the destroyed bag.

I forgot I bought strawberries several days ago. 

Luckily, they were still good today when I checked them. 

They became dessert.

I've probably taken this same photo before 

but not with the reflection of the snowflakes and fairy lights.

I got Fireball an advent calendar for Christmas last year. 

We are just now figuring out the proper order for display.

 

Day 60 of 2025

It's very windy and cold today.

I know it's only the first of March, but, 

I kind of wish it was the end of March.

I'm ready for warmer (not hot) days.
