Here's your public service announcement for the day. 

When buying loose hardware that needs to be put in a bag and labeled, 

take a picture of the barcode posted for the item. 

Show this to the cashier and tell her how many items you have. 

It's much less messy and troublesome for you and the cashier.

One little adventure to another coffee shop in the Café Passport. 

This one was downtown and we snagged a little table by the window. 

I forgot to get a picture before my blueberry tea 

and blueberry scone were gone, 

but they were both excellent.

I have finished a second hat from the same pattern

 with just a couple changes.

Mama Robin peeped out to catch a little sunshine 

and gave me the opportunity 

to get a better picture of her and her nest.

I have come home to find lots of plants and flowers

 much bigger than they were when we left. 

I also found that Mama Robin 

who was building a nest before we left

 has begun sitting on it. 

It's good to be home.

Fireball and I found a military cemetery from 1864. 

These beautiful cacti were just on the outside of the cemetery wall.

Fireball and I are off on an adventure again. 

The airport after the first leg of our trip

 has a great quilt inspired tile floor.

It's officially been spring for a while now 

so I thought it was time to change the bedspread to a lighter feel. 

That means this one needs a wash before I put it away until fall. 

What better day to do that than laundry day?

The bunny from the Old House did come home with us 

and has been in our front garden for a couple years now.  

He is surrounded by the vinca which has begun to bloom.

Hey, I made a shirt.

The pattern is named as a sweatshirt pattern, 

but I made it out of a very soft French terry 

so it feels more like an extra comfy shirt for layering. 

I think I'll be wearing this one daily until it gets too warm.

I think it's time to break out the pastel colored towels 

and the cute bunny. 

I would like it if the weather would get the memo. 

I'm tired of wearing my puffy coat. 

We even have a freeze warning coming

 for overnight low temperature in a couple days. 

I realize it's only wishful thinking as around here 

one can never feel safe from freezes until May 10.

 

Day 98 of 2025

As with all clothing with straps, 

this dress needs the straps shortened to fit me. 

As I removed the stitching to reveal the piece of elastic to be shortened, 

I realized there were three. 

After the first shoulder was done, I moved on to the next one. 

The very meticulous and tedious stitch removal took a very long time

 so I decided I could use a break. 

As I was putting the dress on a hanger 

I realized I had removed the stitching on the back of one strap 

and the front of the other. 

I'm now extending my break until tomorrow 

when I can devise my plan to get this back together

 and make a functional piece of clothing.

I didn't get any sewing done today, 

but I did get something cut out. 

I'm making a special t-shirt to wear under a dress 

to make it a bit more modest. 

I am making the shirt out of a thrifted shirt 

that I no longer wear.

With the baseball game we were going to attend tonight postponed, 

Fireball and I had dinner downtown before heading home

 before the severe weather. 

Some areas saw tornadoes, heavy rain, winds, hail and power outages. 

We had three of the five. 

Luckily, we avoided a tornado and still have power.

 

Day 91 of 2025

I've started the next new project after the finish of my shorty socks. 

I'm using some of the yarn from yesterday's purchase 

and have started with a favorite- 2x2 rib.
