Day 243 of 2025

I just rediscovered another of Mom's hand knits.
This one will be going to a new home soon.

Day 241 of 2025

I participated in a baking session today
and came home with a loaf of banana bread
baked in my vintage Blue Cornflower Corningware bread pan.
It was fun and delicious.

Day 240 of 2025

Three more tails to weave in and this project is done.
Well, I should probably block it.
Then it will be done.

It was our pleasure to go watch GB#3 run
in his middle school cross country meet tonight.

Day 238 of 2025

On our last morning before our flight home, we headed to the water again.
This time we followed a previously unseen path.
It took us under the drawbridge we have walked across all week.
This is the Montlake Cut that connects Portage Bay with Union Bay.

Day 233 of 2025

The Museum of Flight was fascinating
and more than one can take in with just one visit.
We will definitely have to return.

Day 232 of 2025

We packed a lot into the day,
but Fireball is in his favorite spot at the end of the day.
The view is of Portage Bay, Seattle, Washington.

Day 231 of 2025

Fireball and I are off on another adventure and, as is customary,
I've taken a photo of Fireball in the shelter
where we wait for the shuttle
near where we parked our car.

Day 229 of 2025

Finished.
At 500 pieces, this one was a quick and fun one.
I will definitely do this one again.

Day 228 of 2025

Today seemed like the right time to start another puzzle.

Day 227 of 2025

I think it's been a while since I've posted
 some of my backyard critters.
I just happened to look up from my paperwork
and out the door
to see this chubby little chipmunk resting on the deck.

Day 225 of 2025

I shared some of my purchases from the weekend with Little E today
 on our weekly video call.
This one is earmarked for a cute tank top.

(Weekend photos coming tomorrow)

Day 224 of 2025

It's time for me to head to the airport,
but the Mountain had to surprise me one more time.
It always amazes me.

Day 223 of 2025

It's a shadow selfie.

There will be yarn, fiber, ideas and sheep.

Day 220 of 2025

I have arrived at my weekend location.
Any guesses?
Big hint- I'm in the Pacific Northwest.

Day 219 of 2025

I know it's hard to see what's going on here so I will explain.
I wanted to make a pair of pajama pants.
I went to my fabric stash to look for three yards of fabric.
Before I was even able to really look
I found this pair of Vera Bradley pajama pants
that I bought at Goodwill years ago to cut up
and use as borders on a quilt.
I had even picked out coordinating fabric
which I found rolled together with the pants.
It appeared that they might fit me so I took a closer look.
The elastic in the back waist was rotten so I replaced the elastic.
My favorite thing though is that I was able to add inseam pockets.
I love inseam pockets and intend to add them to most anything I can.
I can't wait to wear these.

Day 218 of 2025

Update on the glue search:
I looked in a drawer in the kitchen desk
to see if I could find the glue for my shoe repair.
I did not see it so I started cleaning out the drawer instead.
In the back I found an old cigar box.
When I opened it, this is what I found.
I don't need these so they are not going to stay here,
but I had to take a picture as they reminded me
of this puzzle I did back in 2020.
When I cleared out the rest of the drawer, I did find my glue.
I have now fixed my sandals.
There is no need to shop for new sandals
or buy more shoe repair glue.

Day 217 of 2025

When we were in San Diego Little E gifted me with a beautiful shawl she knit.
I plan to take it with me on an upcoming trip
so I thought I would give it a nice wool wash soak and blocking.
Even in cool water it was bleeding color.
I believe it was coming from the contrast color trim yarn.
I rinsed it five or six times and it finally stopped.
It now lies on a beach towel on a bathroom floor
along with a cute cropped sweater
that Little E made for me a couple years ago
that I also plan to take with me.
I hope they are both dry in time.

Note: All previous Big Adventure posts (Days 204-209)
have been updated with photos.

Day 216 of 2025

This is the top three shelves of the laundry closet.
I am looking for something again.
A while back I bought some shoe glue from the shoe repair shop
to fix a favorite pair of boots.
I did not repair them yet
but did repair another pair of shoes with it.
Now my favorite sandals are coming apart.
I have no idea where I put this random item,
but the logical place seems to me to be here with the shoe polish.
I did not find it here.
I'll look somewhere else tomorrow.
If I can't find it by Wednesday, I see two options -
buy more shoe glue from the shoe repair shop
or buy a new pair of sandals.
They should be on sale by now.

Day 215 of 2025

Everyone enjoys it when the neighborhood cat comes around,
including the cat.

Day 214 of 2025

Fireball and I are cleaning up after finally
getting the tree, in the background next to the ladder,
that was damaged in a storm in June trimmed up.
While I was up on the ladder, I also cut out all the dead limbs I could find.
The job took much longer than I had imagined it would.

Day 213 of 2025

Evidently our ginkgo tree has a dead limb somewhere.
It is throwing parts of it down on our shade structure to let us know.
