Day 90 of 2026

While I was hanging out with GB#3 tonight,
Lincoln decided my lap was the best place
regardless of whether I wanted to knit or not.

Day 89 of 2026

I realize that it looks like I am knitting an Easter egg,
but I assure you that it is a reversible hat.
I finished all the stripes on our trip
so I am able to continue straight rounds in one color for a while...
unless I decide to put in a random stripe or two.

Day 88 of 2026

I needed a couple things from IKEA.
I found them but also found more color inspiration.

Day 87 of 2026

We've concluded our Seattle 2026: The Flower Tour and are heading home.
Of course this visit wasn't just about the flowers.
It was also about family, celebrations, food, conversation, laughter,
sharing these experiences and so much more.

Tile art is at Sea-Tac International Airport.

Day 86 of 2026

Ballard Locks is one of my favorite places.
This afternoon was a great time to visit.

Day 85 of 2026

RoozenGaarde, Skagit County, Washington
We knew we would be a little too early for the full tulip display.
There were a few varieties in bloom,
but there were daffodils as far as the eye can see.

Day 84 of 2026

Continuing our flower theme we visited SAM (Seattle Art Museum) today
 and saw this art installation
which was formerly installed at Newfields here at home.
The flowers open and close in slow motion.
SAM has provided bean bag chairs on the floor under the flowers
so one can enjoy the display comfortably.

Day 82 of 2026

We are in Seattle now and our goal is to see all the flowers.
While this isn't the greatest concentration of cherry blossoms on campus,
it is my favorite of the pictures I took today.
On a clear day you would be able to see Mt. Rainier in the distance.
It was gray and cloudy today but if you look very closely,
you can see a faint outline of the mountain.

Day 81 of 2026

Every airport has their own special art.
This installation was at Las Vegas Terminal 3.
It is

"Mirare" by Stu Schechter

Click above for the highlight about the piece.

Day 80 of 2026

We made it to Las Vegas for a tribute for my uncle
who passed away in December
after which we were graced with a beautiful sunset.

Day 76 of 2026

Happy St. Patrick's Day.
I changed the dishes sometime last week.
Some of them are in the dishwasher.
Can you tell which ones we use the most?
I don't think I can list them all
but I used all my greens, white and linen.

Day 75 of 2026

This will be a double-sided hat.
The next thing to knit will be the brim
 for the opposite side hat.
But first I need to try it on to see if the length is good.
It appears it is. Onward.

Day 74 of 2026

We have a severe thunderstorm warning tonight.
The storm is definitely upon us -
great lightning and loud thunder.

Day 71 of 2026

I'm working on a Musselburgh hat by Ysolda
I have wanted to make this pattern for a while.
At the same time I have had a yarn pull that I really like
that I have also wanted to use for something.
These two thoughts have merged here.
I can't wait to show you where this color story is going.

Day 70 of 2026

I just noticed on the other side of the fence in the back yard
that my neighbor's forsythia is blooming bright yellow.
I had no idea if ours was blooming
so I went outside in the rain to check.
Yes. It certainly is.

Day 68 of 2026

This is quilt top number three of the quilt tops I acquired in February.
This one has some issues, but look at those cute boats.
I couldn't pass it up.
As you can see on the backside, this top is hand stitched.
Unfortunately, the stitches are fairly large.
You can tell from the strings and clumps of threads on the back
that this top has been washed.
Large stitches and a top that is not quilted but washed
is usually a disaster as is the case here.
Some seams are coming apart, the edges are not holding together
and it appears to not be square.
I believe this used to be a complete quilt at one point
because there are crease lines and threads near the edge
and lots of areas with what appears to be former quilting threads.
But I will not be deterred.

Day 67 of 2026

The plant that grew up through the lamp
 has continued to flourish.
at it when I first noticed it was taking a new route.

Day 65 of 2026

I just received the yarn for another new project.
It's so soft and the colors are amazing.

Day 64 of 2026

I got a  package today.
Another new cast on coming soon.
Because I need another WIP.

Day 63 of 2026

It looks like spring really is on its way.
I guess it's time to get out my small rake
and clean out last year's leaves.

Day 62 of 2026

Last night we used the shells for chicken tacos.
Tonight we are putting the chicken on salads
with taco toppings.

Day 61 of 2026

Eight taco shells nest nicely in a full circle
 but four is trickier.
To avoid letting the last shell collapse
making it nearly impossible to fill,
I've arranged these like a Girl Scout friendship knot
or cardboard box flaps.
The configuration was successful.
