Day 243 of 365

I took several pictures of the wonderful vegetables growing in Big D and R's garden,
but my favorite picture was this lovely curl of a vine.

Day 242 of 365

Like all good home improvement projects,
ours required another trip to the home improvement center
before we could really get started.
Of course they didn't have everything we needed,
so we stopped at another before heading home.

I have begun a new knitting project.

Day 240 of 365

We are gathering supplies to complete the fireplace project
over the long holiday weekend.
Wish us luck.
FYI - Sixteen foot lengths of crown molding don't fit inside the car.

I just really liked the sky.

Day 236 of 365

I just finished quilting a quilt tonight.
This is the next one in line.
It is a flannel block of the month that I won years ago from my local guild.
With that many different makers, it could not possibly go together well.
The result is a quilt with a lot of headless geese, as we like to call it.
I'm not too worried though.  I have a plan.
Besides, this will become a seasonal couch throw.
Comfort is key.

Day 234 of 365

After heavy rains overnight, a major limb split off one of our Bradford Pears.
Most of it is currently lying on our roof and shade structure.
Thankfully, it did not smash through the window although it came within half an inch of doing so.
I believe we escaped with only minor roof damage.
Tomorrow will tell when clean up begins.

Day 233 of 365

Birds on a wire or two.
Sometimes we make up stories about the birds on the wires.
Usually we call this a bird convention.
When a few fly off we say that they had a breakout meeting to attend.
When birds arrive late we wonder what they had to do that caused this and if they have to explain themselves to the others.
Sometimes one bird will sit off by himself.  Why?
Is he shy?  Does he have self-esteem issues?  Did he wear the wrong thing?
The stories could go on and on.
Do you make up stories about the birds?

Day 229 of 365

I took a picture of the Fair Train again this year.
I checked the picture from 2012 and found that the two were almost identical.
So here is another shot I took.
The conductor is waiting for the okay from the engineer before letting passengers board.

Day 227 of 365

Finally, I am on the last ball of yarn.
Well, it's the last one before I start the border.
One day it will be a completed project.

Day 225 of 365

Webs on my gutter.
I guess I really should clean the outside of my house...and the inside too, I suppose.

Day 222 of 365

Today was quite a productive day with regard to the mantel construction.
Fireball and I installed the thin shelf (above the existing one)
and all the boards above that today.
There is so much more to be done but I thought I'd share the steps as they happen.

Day 213 of 365

Today is the first day of the State Fair.
To kick it off there was a giant hot air balloon launch just before sunrise.
There were twelve in total.

Here are a couple other shots.  It was so hard to decide!
