Day 59 of 2019

Tonight was a Pinterest dinner night. 

The chicken was not photo worthy but so good.  

The cauliflower, 

shown here with so much extra coating because I only cooked half a head 

instead of the whole head the recipe called for, 

was so delicious I could have eaten all of it right from the pan 

before it even made it to our plates.

Day 58 of 2019

I found another project I need to finish. 

I searched back on the blog to find that I started it in September of 2016 

and last posted about it in October of the same year.  

I had hit a snag. 

I think I have found a solution for that. 

My plan is to make this my next knit, after I finish yesterday's shawl, of course.

Day 57 of 2019

My pink cowl is done, with the exception of blocking, 

so of course I have picked up another project I started quite some time ago, 

but for whatever reason, I had put aside. 

It is coming along well but the row I am working on 

is not coming up with the right number of stitches to the center marker.  

My attempts to find the problem on this row have been unsuccessful.  

I may have to look at the previous row.  

This is what happens when I try to knit on something with a pattern 

that needs close attention at a quilting meeting. 

Black and white photo because lighting is not giving me true colors. 

I'll try to get a daylight picture later - 

after I find and fix the mistake.

Today was gray and hazy with a touch of yellow. 

Are those Porta Potties? 

Maybe they are something crop related. 

I really don't know.

Day 52 of 2019

I am struggling with what to say about my photo today without getting too wordy, 

so I'll just begin. 

On a visit to see my sister today, she suggested we visit a business 

(not in my home town) that had a quilt block on the exterior of their building.  

She had never been there but was curious.  

As we got closer I noticed that it also had the letters APQS also on the building.  

Right away I knew what we had found.  

I bought my longarm machine from a rep at the show in Paducah several years ago.  

After my purchase, she opened her own business where she stocks longarm supplies 

and rents time on machines to customers. 

This was that business. 

We went inside.  

She was not there but the shop was lovely and inspiring.    

I treated myself to a couple new longarm rulers and a Hoffman Dream Big fabric panel. 

This is just what I needed today. 

I did not buy thread today but always find the displays irresistible.

Day 51 of 2019

It's been a while since I've really cleaned. 

I've cleaned, of course, but I hadn't REALLY cleaned.  

Today I tackled the lights in the master bath. 

 I think I'm going to have to wear shades for a while.

Day 50 of 2019

Today I squeezed myself through between the sorting tables 

and finally took down the Christmas tree. 

All that is left to do is find a place for the special ornaments

 that are new to the house, 

including handmade ornaments by GBs 

and ornaments commemorating our special travels last year.

Day 49 of 2019

Have you heard of Thread Chicken? 

It's the "game" in which you try to finish the task at hand 

without running out of thread. 

Well, I guess this is the knitter's version of that, Yarn Chicken.  

With between six and eight rounds to go, 

I am definitely going to lose.  

Edit:  Just to be clear, I DO have more yarn.  

I will just be forced to attach a new ball 

just in time to do a couple rounds and then bind off.

I finally ate my Valentine cookie today. 

I sure hope all the glitter was edible.

I've had one Swedish dishcloth for a few months now. 

I love it so much for wiping off my countertops, 

I finally bought a few more. 

This might be my favorite of the bunch.

Fireball on the 20 at Lucas Oil Stadium. 

We attended a Colts event tonight which included a tour of the stadium.

Experiencing the view from the press box, 

walking on the field, 

and visiting the Colts locker room were some of the highlights.

but surely this is progress.

If you've been with me here on the blog for a while

 you know that I decorate this chandelier each year for Christmas 

with white glittery ribbons and white paper stars.  

This year, with my abbreviated version of decorating, 

I put up these black and white checked ribbons with the stars.  

After Christmas I removed the stars but left the ribbons.  

So this week I got crafty and made some origami hearts to hang 

with the black and white ribbons.

while I was taking a break from the boxes that were my focus today.
