I know this looks very much like the last update picture, 

but the number of coats of paint

 on the different parts of this vanity has changed. 

I guess the picture is really for me for documenting purposes.

I couldn't wait any longer to change my dishes to red, white and pink

 with a little turquoise thrown in for good measure. 

(colors used: Scarlet, Peony, Turquoise, White)

Purple crochet update. 

For those of you who were thinking that this was looking like an animal, 

you are correct. 

I'm not sure it's going to look like what animal it will be

 until very near the end 

so I will keep posting progress pictures.

 

Day 26 of 2023

Here's a sneak peek at the guest bath redo in progress. 

The walls and ceiling are done. 

The vanity has its first coat of paint on

 with the exception of the drawer frame on the close left

 that I noticed only after I took the picture

 and had already cleaned the paint brush. 

 

Day 25 of 2023

The neighbor's tree has had a large crack in the connection of a particular limb

 for quite some time. 

We have all expected this limb to fall at any time. 

Our few inches of overnight snow seems to have been the final straw. 

It fell in the street and in front of our driveway.

 

Day 24 of 2023

I've been working on the bathroom redo 

but have no exciting pictures to show because the primer I'm using is clear 

so there is no apparent progress. 

Tonight I am resting 

because tomorrow I should be able to work on actual painting. 

I am hoping I can give you a sneak peek of one of the colors I'm using.

 

Day 23 of 2023

Monday is laundry day. 

I don't do a red load every week but when I do it gets a separate load. 

I have ruined enough clothes in the almost 48 years I've been married

 to know that I can't wash my red things with anything else 

no matter what temperature the water is.

When we last saw the purple crochet project, 

I was about to introduce another color. 

I have not gotten to very much crochet lately, 

but I have made a little progress.

R and I visited the Before Tour of this year's Decorator's Show House. 

This one room I hope they don't change.

 

Day 19 of 2023

I'm a little behind on the bathroom project, 

but all the holes are filled  

and some strategies and decisions were made today. 

I'm feeling good about it.

 

Day 18 of 2023

One last gift from our Christmas gift exchange arrived yesterday. 

It shipped from Germany so it took a while. 

Luckily, I have one ink pad that hadn't been opened yet 

(the bottom three test tomatoes) 

and isn't dried out yet. 

I love these tiny tomatoes.

 

Day 17 of 2023

I didn't get to bathroom tasks today

 but did spend the day decluttering another area of the house.

 I came across this leaf rubbing which I really like. 

I decided it would be much easier to toss it if I took a photo, so I did.

 

Day 16 of 2023

One of my tasks for today was to remove the mirror from the wall 

to make wall prep before painting easier. 

Fireball helped with this job as it was quite heavy. 

Once I went back into the room, 

I found this which has been hiding behind the mirror. 

The top picture is one of many practice pieces I found in that space. 

The bottom picture is the final painting that is on the wall above the closet door. 

This particular one was done by T-bone and according to his signature, 

the artwork, and the bathroom, was done in 1999, almost 25 years ago. 

While it's sad to see all this go, it is high time the room got an update. 

I'll be posting lots of pictures of the current bathroom, 

the process and the finished room 

on More Curiously when I take breaks in the actual working on it. 

I'll link posts when they go up.

I have a major project planned for next week.

 I've been writing down all the steps that are needed to get the job done 

and I believe I can get it done (mostly) by the end of the week. 

Step number one is to take "before" pictures.

I forgot to tell you that I changed the dishes for January. 

Like I usually do, I went with the frosty feel of blue and white. 

Colors used: 

Turquoise, Peacock, Cobalt, Twilight, Lapis, white 

and I think one of my purples may have snuck in there.

Happy mail came today in the cutest little package.

 Before today's game all the players, coaches and staff from both teams 

met in the middle of the field to pray for Damar Hamlin's recovery.

 

Day 7 of 2023

November and December always seem to be very busy months. 

The crafting I'd like to get done before Christmas rarely seems to happen. 

This year in my planning frenzy, 

I've decided to have Christmas in January. 

I will be devoting some time this month to make lots of stars 

and other delights which I will box up

 to be discovered again in December. 

Future me will thank current me.

My stamps that were ordered almost four weeks ago finally arrived. 

If you normally get a Christmas card from me,

 this is why it hasn't arrived yet. 

 

Day 4 of 2023

I've never done this before, 

but I am going to try planning the whole year out at once. 

I don't do resolutions but have decided to write down some goals 

and actually get some things on the calendar. 

These blue dots represent recycling pick up and already I did it wrong.

We'll see how it goes. 

I have high hopes.

After a family group message discussion on favorite cookies, 

I felt compelled to make a late night batch of cookies. 

Peanut butter cookies seemed the fastest 

and one for which I always have all the ingredients. 

They were delicious.

When I was at home today I spent my time crocheting. 

Here is my progress so far.

I am about to introduce a new color into the project.
